Why Patients Need You

The Director, PGS Learning Partner, Americas is a senior individual contributor and recognized subject matter expert responsible for shaping and advancing learning, organizational capability, and Personnel and Training Management strategies across the Americas and broader PGS network.

The role serves as a strategic learning and capability partner to the Quality, Safety and Environmental Operations (QSEO) leadership team, translating business strategy, quality priorities, regulatory expectations, emerging technologies, and workforce needs into scalable solutions that strengthen organizational capability and performance.

The Director serves as the Local Process Owner (LPO) for Personnel and Training Management for Above-Site QSEO and represents QSEO on the L2 Personnel and Training Management Process Centric Team (PCT). The role also serves as the regional L2 PCT Leader and proxy for the Personnel & Training Management Global Process Owner (GPO), providing strategic and technical leadership for the design, governance, deployment, performance, and continuous improvement of the L2 process and associated sub-processes.

Operating with a high degree of autonomy, the Director leads complex, cross-functional and cross-regional initiatives, evaluates systemic risks and opportunities, and provides authoritative guidance on matters requiring significant judgment and expertise. The role establishes direction and achieves results primarily through expertise, collaboration, and influence rather than formal reporting authority.

The Director routinely partners with and influences Senior Director and Vice President-level stakeholders and serves as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, Global Process Owners, Learning Partners, LPOs, PX, Digital, Quality, and other enterprise stakeholders.

How You Will Achieve It

Strategic Learning and Organizational Capability Leadership

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to QSEO leadership, translating business, quality, regulatory, technology, and workforce priorities into forward-looking learning and organizational capability strategies.
  • Anticipate evolving organizational capability requirements and establish strategies that prepare the organization for future business, regulatory, quality, and technology needs.
  • Independently assess complex or ambiguous organizational and performance challenges, integrate multiple sources of information, and recommend solutions addressing systemic issues and longer-term capability needs.
  • Provide strategic consultation to senior leaders on complex learning, capability, compliance, and performance issues requiring significant judgment and cross-functional alignment.
  • Influence the evolution of global learning strategies and training portfolios based on emerging business, technical, regulatory, and organizational requirements.
  • Partner with PX and other enterprise functions to integrate technical capabilities, leadership behaviors, mindsets, digital capabilities, and organizational effectiveness into comprehensive capability strategies.
  • Identify and advance opportunities for simplification, standardization, innovation, and continuous improvement across the organization.

Personnel and Training Management Process Leadership

  • Provide strategic and technical leadership for Personnel and Training Management processes supporting Above-Site QSEO and the Americas network.
  • Serve as LPO and regional L2 PCT Leader, translating global requirements into effective, sustainable, and risk-based approaches for regional and functional implementation.
  • Serve as a proxy for the Personnel & Training Management GPO, as appropriate, and contribute to global process strategy, governance, and decision-making.
  • Provide strategic oversight for processes governing personnel qualification, job descriptions, curricula, training requirements, and associated documentation.
  • Ensure appropriate alignment among organizational roles, process responsibilities, colleague capability expectations, and required training curricula.
  • Provide governance and oversight for curriculum lifecycle management, including implementation, content review, revision, and obsolescence.
  • Partner with Process Owners, curriculum owners, Digital, system administrators, and other stakeholders to resolve complex process and system issues and identify opportunities for process transformation.
  • Establish, monitor, and interpret metrics and indicators of process health, performance, effectiveness, and compliance.
  • Use data and trends to identify emerging systemic risks or opportunities and determine appropriate interventions, improvement strategies, or escalation.
  • Provide subject matter expertise regarding trainer qualification, training administration, waivers, substitutes, recognition of prior learning, and other complex Personnel and Training Management matters.
  • Advise People Leaders regarding their accountabilities for colleague qualification, learning, and training management.

L2 Quality Management Process Learning Strategy

  • Provide strategic leadership for Learning Needs Assessments associated with assigned L2 Quality Management Processes in partnership with Global Process Owners and other key stakeholders.
  • Review and approve Learning Needs Assessments to ensure proposed strategies appropriately address process, quality, compliance, capability, and performance requirements.
  • Determine appropriate learning and performance-support strategies based on organizational impact, risk, complexity, learner requirements, and expected business outcomes.
  • Lead the development of scalable training, learning, knowledge-management, and performance-support solutions using contemporary instructional design and performance-consulting practices.
  • Partner with Global Process Owners, subject matter experts, and Learning colleagues to establish effective global PLA items and role-based curricula.
  • Provide governance and strategic oversight for LNA deployment requirements and associated deployment matrices.
  • Establish transition strategies with Global Process Owners, including approaches for recognition of prior learning, waivers, and substitutes.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage digital technologies, automation, data, and emerging learning approaches to improve learning effectiveness, efficiency, and colleague experience.

Regional and Global Leadership

  • Serve as a recognized subject matter expert and trusted advisor to senior leaders, Learning Partners, LPOs, Global Process Owners, and other stakeholders.
  • Monitor relevant regulatory expectations, quality trends, inspection outcomes, industry developments, and emerging technologies and evaluate their implications for personnel, training, and capability strategies.
  • Provide expert guidance before, during, and following regulatory inspections, including interpretation of training-related observations and assessment of potential systemic implications.
  • Translate insights from inspections, audits, quality events, performance data, and external developments into sustainable improvements across the network.
  • Lead complex initiatives spanning multiple functions, sites, stakeholder groups, or regions and drive alignment across differing organizational priorities.
  • Influence the digital strategy and roadmap for Personnel and Training Management, identifying opportunities to strengthen data quality, efficiency, compliance, standardization, scalability, and user experience.
  • Partner with the GPO and PCT network to maintain and continuously evolve the global L2 Personnel and Training Management Process.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and technical leadership to LPOs, Learning colleagues, and other stakeholders, strengthening organizational capability without direct supervisory responsibility.
