About PhoenixDX

PhoenixDX is a technology consulting company focused on helping organisations accelerate digital transformation through innovative, scalable and business-driven technology solutions.

We work with enterprise clients to design, build and modernise mission-critical applications, combining deep technical expertise with practical delivery excellence.

As we continue to expand our enterprise delivery capabilities, we are looking for an exceptional OutSystems ODC Architect to lead complex architecture initiatives for a major enterprise client in Australia.

What you will do...

We are seeking a highly accomplished OutSystems Developer Cloud (ODC) Architect with extensive experience architecting enterprise-scale applications across both OutSystems 11 (O11) and ODC.

This is a senior, hands-on technical leadership position for an architect who has been actively involved in the evolution of the OutSystems platform and has successfully delivered complex ODC solutions in production environments.

You will be responsible for defining architecture standards, leading technical design decisions, guiding O11-to-ODC migration strategies and ensuring the scalability, security and maintainability of enterprise applications.

Beyond technical expertise, we are looking for someone who can influence senior stakeholders, mentor technical teams and translate complex architectural decisions into clear business outcomes.

Enterprise Architecture & Technical Leadership

  • Lead the end-to-end architecture and technical design of complex enterprise applications built on OutSystems Developer Cloud (ODC).
  • Establish and govern architecture principles, design standards and development best practices across large application portfolios.
  • Define appropriate application boundaries, service ownership, data architecture and integration patterns.
  • Design scalable, secure and resilient solutions aligned with enterprise architecture requirements.
  • Provide technical direction and architecture governance across multiple delivery teams.

OutSystems O11 to ODC Migration

  • Lead the planning, architecture and execution of O11-to-ODC migration initiatives.
  • Evaluate existing O11 portfolios and define migration approaches, including application redesign, modernisation and integration strategies.
  • Identify and mitigate architectural, technical and operational risks throughout migration.
  • Apply lessons learned from previous migrations to improve delivery outcomes.

Integration & Modern Application Architecture

  • Design and govern event-driven architectures, API integrations and distributed application components.
  • Establish clear data ownership, application boundaries and communication patterns across enterprise systems.
  • Ensure solutions integrate effectively with the broader technology ecosystem.
  • Guide teams on performance, security, deployment and operational considerations.

AI & Emerging Technology

  • Provide architectural guidance on agentic AI capabilities within the OutSystems ecosystem.
  • Design AI-enabled applications and agent workflows with appropriate governance, security guardrails and evaluation frameworks.
  • Assess emerging platform capabilities and recommend practical adoption opportunities.

Stakeholder Engagement & Team Development

  • Act as a trusted technical adviser to enterprise clients, technology leaders and senior executives.
  • Communicate architectural decisions, risks and trade-offs in clear business terms.
  • Mentor Solution Architects, Technical Leads and senior developers.
  • Facilitate technical design reviews and drive alignment across architecture and engineering teams.
  • Support the development of architecture capabilities and technical excellence within PhoenixDX.

Who you are...

  • Extensive hands-on experience with OutSystems 11, including several years working as an architect on large, complex enterprise application portfolios.
  • Deep, demonstrable expertise in OutSystems Developer Cloud (ODC), ideally gained through early platform adoption and sustained production delivery.
  • Proven experience architecting and delivering multiple production applications or portfolios on ODC.
  • Hands-on architectural leadership of at least one significant O11-to-ODC migration.
  • Strong expertise in enterprise application architecture, including: Application boundaries and modular architecture Data ownership and domain separation Event-driven architecture and asynchronous communication API design and enterprise integration patterns Scalability, security, resilience and performance
  • Current knowledge of agentic AI capabilities, including agent architecture, governance, guardrails and evaluation approaches.
  • Demonstrated ability to define architecture standards and influence technical decisions across multiple teams.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, including the ability to engage confidently with senior enterprise leaders.
  • A track record of mentoring technical leads and developing high-performing engineering teams.

Nice to haves...

  • OutSystems Developer Cloud Architecture Specialist certification.
  • Recognised OutSystems MVP or active contributor to the OutSystems community.
  • Experience presenting at technical conferences, user groups or industry events.
  • Contributions to OutSystems Forge or other reusable platform components.
  • Experience leading enterprise-scale transformation programmes within a technology consulting or systems integration environment.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
