Senior Business Analyst, PlayStation Store San Mateo, Los Angeles, or San Diego, CA (hybrid)

About the Role

Sony Interactive Entertainment (PlayStation) is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to help shape the future of our Direct-to-Consumer businesses - PlayStation Store and PlayStation Direct.

You will lead the business analysis workstream for complex commercial initiatives, working with business leaders and subject-matter experts to understand business objectives, processes and customer needs. You will translate these needs into clear, testable business requirements that Product, Engineering, Analytics and Data Science teams use to design and build new ecommerce products and supporting tools. Throughout development, you will maintain alignment between business stakeholders and delivery teams, resolving ambiguity and ensuring the resulting solutions fulfil the underlying business need.

If you have strong experience turning complex business problems and processes into clear business requirements and working across teams to deliver effective solutions, we’d love to hear from you.

What You’ll Do

  • Translate complex business needs into clear, structured and testable business requirements that Product and Engineering teams can execute against. Remain engaged throughout design and development, resolving ambiguity and validating that the solution meets the original business need.
  • Work with business leaders and subject-matter experts to structure ambiguous problems, reconcile stakeholder needs and translate agreed objectives into clear requirements and measurable outcomes.
  • Collaborate across Business, Product, Engineering, Analytics and Data Science teams to resolve issues, manage dependencies and ensure business needs are understood and fulfilled.
  • Apply your understanding of customer journeys, commercial drivers and operational processes to assess how proposed products, features and business changes will affect customers and business operations.
  • Map current and future-state business processes, identify opportunities for improvement or automation and support teams in implementing and embedding the resulting changes.
  • Partner with Product, Analytics and Data Science teams to test commercial hypotheses, challenge assumptions and build the case for change.
  • Influence senior stakeholders within initiatives through structured problem framing, commercial reasoning and clear, evidence-based recommendations.
  • Share your experience and effective Business Analysis practices with other analysts, supporting the quality and consistency of the team’s work.

What We’re Looking For

  • Extensive experience in Business Analysis within digital commerce, subscriptions, retail or related fields.
  • Demonstrated experience planning and leading business analysis for complex initiatives, managing multiple priorities and delivering measurable commercial or operational outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with Product, Engineering, Analytics and Data Science teams to design and deliver commerce products and supporting tools.
  • Strong understanding of eCommerce customer journeys, commercial drivers and operational processes, with the ability to identify relevant dependencies and assess the likely impact of proposed solutions.
  • Proven ability to engage business leaders and subject-matter experts, reconcile differing stakeholder needs and establish clear requirements where information is incomplete or priorities change.
  • Demonstrated experience mapping and improving complex business processes, building the case for change and working with teams to implement and embed new ways of working.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to explain complex issues clearly and support recommendations with commercial reasoning and evidence.
  • Comfortable working across regions, time zones and cultures, with flexibility for international travel and varied working hours.
  • Resilient and adaptable in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of payments, finance and supply chains.
  • Experience integrating AI/ML into business solutions.
  • Familiarity with digital content management and publishing.
  • Awareness of governance and ethics in AI and data practices.
  • Experience working in multicultural, international environments
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent preferred

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
