Playtech’s IMS Engagement Unit is looking for a proactive Fullstack Developer with a strong focus on backend development, who is curious about our domain, takes ownership, and enjoys collaborating with others.

Job Description

Your influential mission. You will...

  • Build features end to end in player engagement products for online gaming operators. The products include: - Leaderboards and tournaments - Missions and challenges - Prize draws - Random prize drops - Automated CRM campaigns
  • Develop backend services: REST APIs, event processing, caching, scheduled jobs, database migrations. Develop the back-office web UI in React and TypeScript.
  • Integrate with platform services for bonuses, loyalty, wallets, and player data.
  • Write unit and integration tests, review code, keep APIs and events backward compatible.
  • Investigate and fix production issues and help prepare releases.
  • Estimate and refine stories together with BA and QA.

Qualifications

Components for success. You...

  • Have at least 2 years of experience of commercial development with Java.
  • Have commercial experience with React and TypeScript.
  • Are experienced in event-driven and distributed systems (Kafka, Redis).
  • Have solid understanding of relational databases (preferably MariaDB).
  • Are knowledgeable in Kubernetes, Jenkins, WebSockets, etc.
  • Have hands-on experience with infrastructure tools, such as Docker, Helm, Consul, Vault, Apache Karaf/OSGi, or similar technologies.
  • Understand GIT flow (pull requests, branches, etc.).
  • Have experience with system design, troubleshooting and debugging.
  • Have a habit of covering changes with automated tests (JUnit, Testcontainers).
  • Are comfortable and proactive in using AI coding assistants (GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, etc.) as productivity multipliers. Have experience validating, refining, and taking ownership of AI-generated output.
  • Are proactive, responsible, and open in communication, taking ownership of your work and raising challenges early when support or collaboration is needed.
  • Communicate in English at an upper-intermediate level or above.

The award-winning IMS (Information Management System) is the industry’s most compelling player management system and the power behind Playtech’s entire product portfolio, providing the tools needed to run and manage every aspect of our online gaming operations.

As part of IMS, our Engagement Center brings together a powerful suite of automation, communication, promotional, and gamification tools designed to create personalized player experiences. The product area covers a variety of solutions, from leaderboards, tournaments, missions and challenges to prize draws, rewards, and automated CRM campaigns, helping operators connect with players in meaningful ways throughout their lifecycle.

By joining our IMS Engagement team, you’ll get to work on products used by major online gaming operators across regulated markets worldwide. You’ll build features end to end, from backend services to back-office UI, while working with modern technologies such as Java 21, Kafka, Redis, and Testcontainers.
