Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Tax & Treasury Head to lead the organization's tax management, treasury operations, cash flow planning, and banking activities. The role is responsible for ensuring compliance with Philippine tax regulations, managing BIR audits and assessments, maintaining sufficient liquidity, and overseeing funding and banking relationships. The successful candidate will establish effective tax and treasury processes, strengthen internal controls, and ensure regulatory compliance across multiple business entities and operating locations.

Key Responsibilities

Tax Compliance & Management

  • Oversee tax compliance across multiple business entities, ensuring accurate and timely filing and payment of all applicable taxes.
  • Ensure adherence to Philippine tax laws, BIR regulations, and other relevant government requirements.
  • Develop and implement tax policies, procedures, and internal controls to minimize tax exposure and prevent penalties.
  • Monitor changes in tax regulations and assess their impact on business operations.

BIR Compliance, CAS & Tax Audits

  • Lead BIR compliance activities, including tax audits, Letters of Authority (LOAs), assessments, and related documentation.
  • Oversee the implementation and accreditation of Computerized Accounting Systems (CAS) in accordance with BIR requirements.
  • Manage tax audit engagements, BIR inquiries, and negotiations with relevant authorities.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors to address tax issues and mitigate potential risks.

Treasury & Cash Management

  • Lead daily cash positioning, liquidity monitoring, and cash flow forecasting across multiple entities.
  • Ensure sufficient cash availability to support daily operations, financial obligations, and business expansion.
  • Develop cash management strategies to optimize fund utilization and working capital.
  • Monitor banking transactions, cash balances, and short-term funding requirements.

Funding & Banking Relationships

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with banks and financial institutions.
  • Negotiate credit facilities, loan arrangements, and other financing requirements.
  • Oversee debt management, loan utilization, interest costs, and compliance with loan covenants.
  • Evaluate financing options to support business growth and operational requirements.

Tax & Treasury Process Improvement

  • Develop, standardize, and implement tax and treasury policies, procedures, and workflows.
  • Establish effective internal controls, approval processes, and documentation standards.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, financial reporting, and risk management.
  • Ensure consistency and accountability in tax and treasury practices across all business entities.

Permits & Regulatory Compliance

  • Oversee the processing, renewal, and monitoring of business permits and regulatory documents across multiple locations.
  • Ensure compliance with Local Government Unit (LGU) requirements and other applicable regulatory obligations.
  • Establish an effective document management and monitoring system to ensure timely renewals and uninterrupted business operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is an advantage.
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in taxation, treasury, accounting, or financial management, with significant leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Philippine tax laws, BIR regulations, and tax compliance requirements.
  • Proven experience handling BIR audits, Letters of Authority (LOAs), tax assessments, and CAS accreditation.
  • Extensive experience in cash management, liquidity planning, and cash flow forecasting.
  • Demonstrated experience negotiating banking facilities, managing loans, and maintaining banking relationships.
  • Experience overseeing tax and treasury operations across multiple business entities or locations.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Background in retail, restaurant operations, FMCG, or other multi-site organizations is highly preferred.
