Job Description:

AgencyIQ by POLITICO is seeking an Account Executive to join our Professional Subscriptions team.

AgencyIQ is one of POLITICO's fastest-growing businesses, providing regulatory intelligence to professionals across the life sciences and food industries. We're looking for a driven and consultative Account Executive to own the full new-business sales cycle, from prospecting and outreach through product demonstrations, negotiations, and close.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone with B2B sales and closing experience who enjoys developing new business, building relationships, and selling a differentiated product to senior-level stakeholders. You do not need to be a regulatory expert — we're looking for someone who is intellectually curious and excited to learn a complex product and market.

What You'll Do

  • Own the full new-business sales cycle, including prospecting, discovery, product demonstrations, evaluations, negotiations, and close
  • Identify and engage prospective customers through strategic outbound prospecting, inbound leads, LinkedIn, email, phone, events, and relationship building
  • Build relationships with senior regulatory, policy, quality, and executive stakeholders and understand their business needs
  • Conduct consultative sales meetings and product demonstrations and customize presentations and proposals for prospective clients
  • Manage product evaluations and trials while delivering an exceptional client experience throughout the sales process
  • Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of new-business opportunities and consistently work toward individual revenue goals
  • Research prospective organizations, stakeholders, and market developments to strengthen outreach and sales conversations
  • Use Salesforce, AI-enabled tools, and other sales technologies to manage pipeline, improve prospecting, and increase productivity

What You'll Need

  • 2–4 years of B2B sales experience, including 1–2+ years of experience owning a sales cycle and closing new business
  • Demonstrated success meeting or exceeding sales, revenue, or new-business goals
  • Experience prospecting and developing new business through outbound outreach and relationship building
  • Confidence conducting discovery calls, presentations, and product demonstrations with senior-level stakeholders
  • Strong written and verbal communication, organization, and time-management skills
  • Experience using Salesforce or another CRM to manage opportunities and pipeline
  • Intellectual curiosity and an interest in life sciences, food policy, regulation, public policy, research, or current events
  • Competitive drive, initiative, and comfort using AI and modern sales technologies to improve productivity and prospecting

COMPENSATION: $80,000- 85,000 Annual Base. This position is eligible for commission. The final salary offered will be based on factors including relevant experience, skills, and qualifications.

About Us.

POLITICO illuminates the forces shaping global power. Since 2007, we have delivered intelligence that anticipates tomorrow's headlines, not reports on yesterday's news. As politics has increasingly become the defining force of our era, our work has never been more vital.

Cabinet secretaries and Ministers start their mornings with our analysis. CEOs shape strategy around our reporting. Advocacy leaders rely on our insights to move policy. We deliver the straightforward facts and clear-eyed analysis they need to navigate the most complex political landscape of our lifetimes.

Our 1,100+ publishing professionals across the world's key democratic capitals—Washington, Brussels, London, Paris, Berlin, Sacramento, and New York—form the world's premier politics and policy newsroom. We tell the story of how power really works by explaining who wields it and how they plan to exercise it, connecting dots others miss and delivering scoops from sources others don't even know exist.

Innovation has always been a core tenet of our story. At launch, we bet that depth would trump scale, that talent would trump traffic, and that politics would become central to modern life. In 2011, we made another bet and launched POLITICO Pro to help decision-makers understand the business of government, transforming both how they shape government action and the business of journalism itself.

These bets have made POLITICO the most successful digital news startup of its generation and the indispensable resource for leaders who shape the future. Today, we are a rarity in media: a growing, profitable, and sustainable news organization.

POLITICO is a subsidiary of Axel Springer SE, a family-owned transatlantic media company headquartered in Berlin and New York. Axel Springer is dedicated to shaping the future of journalism in the free world, believing that a free and informed society is essential to democracy. The company’s guiding principles - first articulated as The Essentials by founder Axel Springer in the aftermath of World War II - remain a cornerstone of the company’s foundation today. Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.

Do you really apply for me?

Yes, on the employer's own form, the hardest ones included. Where a question needs you, you answer it right there and AI suggests the best answer. Don't want us applying from our IP addresses? Use our Chrome extension: we apply straight from your own browser.
