Job Description:

POLITICO is seeking an Events Producer to support the North American arm of POLITICO’s Global Live events team, based in Arlington, VA. The Events Producer will support the production of high-profile, newsworthy events, programs, and experiences advancing POLITICO’s newsroom and editorial franchises as well as creating impactful brand moments for the company and its clients

What sets POLITICO apart is our unwavering commitment to nonpartisan, fact-driven journalism and our exceptional depth, with nearly 600 journalists – across seven newsrooms and with expertise in more than 40 policy beats – dedicated to decoding political dynamics and policy implications. We've established ourselves as essential in today's complex political landscape by providing unmatched reporting and analysis with a global lens. POLITICO Live events represent the physical manifestation of our mission — convening the most influential stakeholders for urgent, news-driven conversations that add depth and context to the discussions that genuinely matter.

This position will play an important role in establishing an elevated brand presence, producing best-in-class experiences and providing operational support across a wide portfolio of events spanning from Washington, DC to California, New York to Florida, as well as Global initiatives and key moments.

The ideal candidate has experience managing events from ideation to execution, is a self-starter, highly responsive and communicative, who thrives in fast-paced environments and can bring new ideas to life in a big way. We are looking for a highly resourceful individual with a passion for news media, who is self-motivated, agile, and logistically-minded, with a proven track record of producing high-caliber events, big and small in a fast-paced environment.

Who You Are:

  • Strategic thinker and meticulous planner who thrives in high-energy environments
  • You bring curiosity, creativity, and a keen eye for detail to every stage of the event process, from concept to execution
  • You understand the importance of storytelling through experience, and you take pride in delivering seamless, elevated events that leave a lasting impression
  • Driven by purpose and passionate about media, politics, and the power of live conversations

What You'll Do:

  • Create high-caliber event productions for POLITICO Live events designed to amplify POLITICO’s brand and editorial content, engage POLITICO’s event community of target influencer audiences, VIPs, and strategic stakeholders and tell client stories
  • Lead smart and repeatable event logistics and planning across events that can be tailored and/or optimized to meet organizational and division goals
  • Manage logistics for POLITICO Live events, including, but not limited to, venue selection, audio-visual deliverables, creative design, budgeting, marketing and promotional activities, event load in and out, attendee flow and other onsite operational needs
  • Support POLITICO Live by working across internal departments, including editorial, sales, marketing, design, and also external stakeholders such as clients, speakers, and vendors to plan and produce live and virtual events for the organization
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand strategies and execute ideas that come to life at POLITICO Live’s events; build timelines, manage agendas, communicate updates, and lead planning calls to ensure key stakeholders are aligned on event timelines and goals
  • Drive exceptional project management standards for events, including the ownership of timelines and templates, creating and advancing best practices and communicating effectively across internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintain a strong understanding of industry trends and developments; recommend enhancements to improve the totality of the experience and production; support Live team leadership to drive forward new initiatives and mandates with the team

What You'll Need:

  • An interest in news media, including demonstrated interest in politics, policy, and the political process
  • 5+ years of experience in event planning and logistics, ideally for a news or political organization
  • 4+ years of project management experience on numerous concurrent events
  • 1+ years of experience show-calling, stage managing, building technical Run of Shows and working directly with A/V crews onsite
  • Knowledge of vendors, venues, and audiences in Washington and other key markets
  • Excellent organizational skills, project management, and consistent attention to detail
  • Exceptional time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail
  • Outstanding interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; ability to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment while adapting to shifting priorities and marketing multiple events
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure
  • Experience using Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to travel up to 15-20% if required

About Us.

POLITICO illuminates the forces shaping global power. Since 2007, we have delivered intelligence that anticipates tomorrow's headlines, not reports on yesterday's news. As politics has increasingly become the defining force of our era, our work has never been more vital.

Cabinet secretaries and Ministers start their mornings with our analysis. CEOs shape strategy around our reporting. Advocacy leaders rely on our insights to move policy. We deliver the straightforward facts and clear-eyed analysis they need to navigate the most complex political landscape of our lifetimes.

Our 1,100+ publishing professionals across the world's key democratic capitals—Washington, Brussels, London, Paris, Berlin, Sacramento, and New York—form the world's premier politics and policy newsroom. We tell the story of how power really works by explaining who wields it and how they plan to exercise it, connecting dots others miss and delivering scoops from sources others don't even know exist.

Innovation has always been a core tenet of our story. At launch, we bet that depth would trump scale, that talent would trump traffic, and that politics would become central to modern life. In 2011, we made another bet and launched POLITICO Pro to help decision-makers understand the business of government, transforming both how they shape government action and the business of journalism itself.

These bets have made POLITICO the most successful digital news startup of its generation and the indispensable resource for leaders who shape the future. Today, we are a rarity in media: a growing, profitable, and sustainable news organization.

POLITICO is a subsidiary of Axel Springer SE, a family-owned transatlantic media company headquartered in Berlin and New York. Axel Springer is dedicated to shaping the future of journalism in the free world, believing that a free and informed society is essential to democracy. The company’s guiding principles - first articulated as The Essentials by founder Axel Springer in the aftermath of World War II - remain a cornerstone of the company’s foundation today. Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
