As a Front Office Clinic Assistant, you’ll support patients throughout their experience while helping the health center stay organized and efficient. On a typical day, you might:
Welcome and check in patients Schedule appointments and help patients navigate their visits Answer phones and respond to patient questions Verify and update patient demographic and insurance information Collect payments and support accurate patient registration Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients about appointments and services Maintain accurate information in the electronic health record (EHR) Work closely with clinical and administrative team members to keep patient flow moving smoothly Help create a welcoming, inclusive, and confidential environment for every patient
Schedule & Location This is a temporary, part-time position (30 hours/week) at our Northeast Health Center – Family Planning in Portland, Oregon.
Monday Tuesday Wednesday Saturday
11:00am–7:00pm 8:00am–4:00pm 11:00am–7:00pm 8:00am–4:00pm
Candidates must be able to reliably work this schedule. Employees may be requested or required to occasionally work other days (including weekends), hours, and locations to meet operational needs. What We’re Looking For Required:
High school diploma or equivalent 2+ years of experience in a customer service or high-volume environment Ability to communicate effectively with diverse patients and coworkers Comfort working both independently and as part of a team Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced health care environment
Nice to Have:
Experience in a medical setting or working directly with patients Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) Medical office, patient registration, or scheduling experience Bilingual or multilingual skills
Pay & Growth $20.37–$29.68/hour Pay is based on experience and internal equity. Most new hires start toward the lower end of the range, with room to grow. Additional pay opportunities:
Bilingual premium: +$1.72/hour Interpreter-level premium: +$3.44/hour
