We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer, Frontend & Full-stack to revolutionize a historically underserved industry. As the Staff Software Engineer on our Contracts and Change Orders Engineering team, you will work closely with Procore Engineering teams, Product Management, UX, and leadership to define, design, and drive the implementation of large-scale, complex software systems, including advanced AI/ML capabilities. Your strengths in software design and architecture, complex system scalability, and technical leadership will drive your success.

You will report to an Engineering Manager and will be based in our Cairo, Egypt location.

What You’ll Do

  • Drive and own the technical vision for core system components, ensuring alignment with Procore’s technical vision of a service-oriented architecture.
  • Lead the implementation of the Agentic AI Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) within the team, establishing best practices for building, testing, and deploying intelligent, autonomous systems.
  • Lead the evolution of our team's codebase and architecture across multiple domain boundaries, defining and enforcing clear system interfaces.
  • Design and implement critical, high-impact systems that significantly improve scalability, resiliency, and performance across Procore's platform.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to team members, fostering a culture of engineering excellence.
  • Partner with Engineering leadership, Product Management, and UX to translate ambiguous, complex business problems into clear technical roadmaps and solutions, including those involving advanced AI capabilities.
  • Represent the team and its technical strategy in cross-organizational discussions, communicating complex tradeoffs and solutions to technical and non-technical executives.
  • Develop and evangelize best practices and standards for writing highly performant code and minimizing resource consumption across the engineering organization.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, a related field, or comparable practical work experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in Object-Oriented Programming fundamentals, Test Driven Development, and Design principles.
  • Demonstrated expertise in building, deploying, and monitoring AI/ML systems, with specific experience in the Agentic AI Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Deep expertise working on full-stack modern applications and frameworks with React/Typescript,Ruby on Rails, and PostgreSQL.
  • Proven experience defining and driving software design and architectural decisions in a service-oriented architecture environment.
  • A track record of leading and delivering major cross-functional technical projects from inception to production.
  • Deep time-honed expertise with modern web development across the entire spectrum of development, testing, staging, deploying, and monitoring.
  • Extensive experience with development in Docker, AWS, and microservice environments, including performance tuning and cost optimization.
  • Exceptional understanding of the tradeoffs between technical, analytical, performance, and product goals, and adept at formulating solutions that balance all of these needs.
  • Proven ability to document and evangelize complex technical solutions to a wide audience, securing buy-in across multiple teams.
  • A curious mind that is driven to innovate and solve customer problems.
