With a staff of 950+ and an annual budget of $140 million, Project Renewal is one of the larger social service nonprofits in New York City.   Title: Learning and Development InternProgram: Human Resources, Training & Development Salary Range: $25 an hour Schedule: Remote Reports To: Senior Director of Training & Development   Overall Responsibilities: Join Project Renewal’s Learning and Development team as a paid intern and gain hands-on experience supporting the design, implementation, and evaluation of leadership development programs across the agency. The intern will help develop curricula, analyze learning data, and contribute to workforce development projects aligned with the organization’s strategic goals.   Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The essential duties of the Learning and Development Intern include, but are not limited to, the following activities:

Curriculum Design & Development

Assist in creating research-informed, performance-focused learning materials that support organizational goals and reflect management and leadership best practices. Collaborate on the design and implementation of scalable learning programs grounded in adult learning principles and relevant frameworks, including trauma-informed care, inclusion and belonging, transformational leadership, etc. Ensure training materials adhere to and support standard operating procedures and compliance requirements.

Workforce Analysis & Reporting

Participate in audits of training data and documentation to identify gaps and improvement opportunities. Assist in analyzing learner performance data and preparing reports for leadership. Contribute to process improvements for progress monitoring and performance management.

Qualifications:

Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Education, Organizational Leadership, Human Resources, or a related field; OR demonstrated relevant experience in lieu of education. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with online platforms and cloud-based productivity tools (e.g., Google Workspace, Microsoft Office). Comfort working collaboratively, receiving feedback, and maintaining flexibility in response to changing needs and priorities. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.

Skills & Competencies:

Experience with curriculum design or facilitation (academic or extracurricular). Interest in data analysis and process improvement. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Working Conditions:

Ability to remain seated and work at a computer for extended periods, with occasional standing, walking, bending, and reaching during normal work activities. Ability to use a computer, keyboard, phone, video conferencing tools, and other standard office equipment for extended periods. Ability to occasionally lift and carry work materials weighing up to 10 pounds. This is primarily a remote role; occasional travel to Project Renewal work locations or in-person meetings may be required based on business needs. Driving is not a regular requirement of this position.
