Protecting personnel through comprehensive industrial hygiene surveys, hazard assessments, exposure evaluations, cnd compliance recommendations, ensuring readiness by working to identify and evaluate workplace health hazards, assess employee exposures, verify the effectiveness of hazard controls, and support regulatory compliance. - Provide DOD/Military Sector related Hybrid – On/Off Client Site and Virtual Environmental Consulting Services for DHA Industrial Hygienist as a Labor Category: Industrial Hygiene Technician IH103 with activities generally located California Central Coast; Western United States; North America | California Central Coast; Western United States; North America Vandenberg Space Force Base, near Lompoc, Santa Barbara County, California.
- Lead, manage, facilitate integrated safety and hygiene programs that find hazards, control exposures, strengthen compliance, and readiness.
- Own overall technical strategy and delivery governance for integrated Industrial Hygiene survey programs.
- Establish survey methodology, staffing model, quality gates, exposure-assessment strategy, safety-management controls, escalation protocols, and technical signoff authorities.
- Direct multi-site CONUS/OCONUS mobilization, coordinate with contracting/COR/SOH/IH stakeholders, review high-risk findings, resolve scope or technical disputes, and ensure recommendations align with the hierarchy of controls, mission readiness, regulatory obligations, and client risk tolerance. Mentor technical leads and approve corrective-action frameworks.
- Perform industrial hygiene, occupational health, and safety site surveys across the Client Facilities and Installations and supported work areas.
- Conduct occupational air sampling, hazardous-noise surveys, noise dosimetry, and other exposure-monitoring activities using appropriate industrial hygiene methods and instrumentation.
- Prepare, label, document, and coordinate samples for shipment and laboratory analysis in accordance with applicable procedures.
- Analyze sampling and survey data; evaluate occupational health risks using applicable regulations, guidance, checklists, and professional judgment.
- Prepare technically accurate survey reports, recommendations, briefings, and risk-communication materials for Government stakeholders.
- Enter, retrieve, validate, and analyze occupational and environmental health information in DOEHRS and Business Objects reporting environments.
- Prioritize, organize, and schedule sampling and survey activities based on regulatory requirements, historical data, operational needs, and professional judgment.
- Coordinate surveys, assessments, and follow-up activities with 30 MDG personnel and other supported installation units.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and technical guidance for industrial hygiene programs and technician execution.
- Train and mentor technicians on industrial hygiene processes, sampling programs, equipment use, and documentation requirements.
- Maintain technical proficiency with industrial hygiene sampling equipment, calibration practices, exposure-assessment methods, and applicable control strategies.
- Participate in periodic staff meetings, section huddles, working groups, and Government coordination meetings as required.
- Maintain readiness to support an emergency/mission-essential position and comply with approved onsite or situational telework requirements.
- Support continuity of services, quality requirements, qualification-package updates, and other contract deliverables associated with the assigned position.
Qualifications

Recommended 10+ years progressive EHS/IH experience, including 5+ years leading complex multi-site or high-hazard programs; active CSP and CIH.

Education / Experience Requirements / Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or higher in industrial hygiene, occupational health, safety, engineering, chemistry, biological/physical science, or related field. Must satisfy current BCSP CSP and BGC CIH credential eligibility/maintenance requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in science or an appropriate engineering discipline is required/expected; preferred fields include industrial hygiene, industrial engineering, industrial systems/projects, chemical engineering, or a closely related scientific discipline.
- Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) credential is strongly preferred for this job posting and should be current and in good standing where applicable.
If the Government's final qualification criteria permit an alternative to board certification, candidate must meet the stated experience/certification pathway; Professional Engineer (PE) status may be required where otherwise specified by the PWS.
- Prior experience with occupational air sampling, hazardous-noise surveys, noise dosimetry, analytical data review, work-priority planning, and professional technical reporting is highly desired.
- Experience supporting DoD, Air Force, DHA, military treatment facilities, healthcare organizations, Federal installations, or comparable regulated environments is highly desirable.
- Experience using DOEHRS or other occupational/environmental health databases is preferred.
- Experience developing SOPs, training technical staff, coordinating field surveys, and managing industrial hygiene instrumentation is preferred.
- Must successfully complete the Government's competency-based interview and qualification review before placement.
- Must be available to support the anticipated onsite start and full-time schedule established by the Government, subject to award and final onboarding.
