If you’re curious about how legal strategy shapes product development and distribution in the life insurance industry, then this role offers the opportunity to advise on high-impact initiatives while guiding business through complex regulatory and risk considerations.

About the Role We are seeking an experienced Actuary to lead end-to-end actuarial processes, including model development, valuation, financial reporting, and earnings projections across U.S. GAAP, Statutory, Tax, and Bermuda Economic Balance Sheet (EBS) frameworks. This role will play a critical part in supporting financial reporting, business planning, model governance, and strategic initiatives while partnering closely with Finance, Risk, Underwriting, and M&A teams. What You'll Do Valuation & Financial Reporting

Perform quarterly and annual valuations of insurance liabilities under U.S. GAAP, Statutory, Tax, and Bermuda EBS frameworks. Analyze and explain reserve movements and actual-to-expected (A/E) earnings variances. Support financial reporting activities, including disclosures and management reporting. Develop and maintain earnings projections to support business planning and financial analysis.

Modeling & Systems

Convert existing valuation models from ArcVal to ALFA and develop new product valuation models. Develop, enhance, and maintain actuarial models used for valuation and projection purposes. Ensure models are accurate, efficient, and aligned with regulatory and business requirements. Drive automation, process improvements, and modeling best practices.

Assumptions, Analysis & Governance

Develop, review, and update key actuarial assumptions, including mortality, lapse, and expense assumptions. Conduct experience studies, sensitivity testing, and scenario analyses. Provide insight into earnings volatility, reserve adequacy, and capital impacts. Establish and maintain strong controls over models, data, and valuation processes. Maintain comprehensive documentation and ensure compliance with actuarial standards, internal policies, and regulatory requirements.

Business Partnership & Strategic Support

Partner with Underwriting, Finance, Risk, and M&A teams on product development, reinsurance transactions, and strategic initiatives. Support the pricing, evaluation, and structuring of reinsurance transactions. Provide actuarial expertise and insights to support business decision-making.

Audit & Regulatory Support

Support internal and external audits through preparation of documentation and responses to review requests. Monitor regulatory developments and recommend enhancements to valuation and reporting practices as needed.

What You Bring

Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 5+ years of actuarial experience with exposure to a broad range of insurance products. Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP accounting frameworks, including FAS 60, FAS 91, and FAS 97. Solid understanding of Long-Duration Targeted Improvements (LDTI) and its impact on valuation and financial reporting. Experience with products such as Fixed Indexed Annuities (FIA), Fixed Indexed Universal Life (FIUL), Universal Life (UL), Deferred Annuities, Payout Annuities, and Traditional Life products. Familiarity with both direct and reinsurance business preferred. Expertise with actuarial modeling platforms such as MG-ALFA (ALFA), AXIS, Prophet, or similar systems. Advanced Excel skills with experience developing, automating, and optimizing complex financial models. Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
