Company Description

We’re Jetstar. You may know us for our famous low fares, but did you also know that we’ve flown more than 400 million customers since we launched in Australia in 2004? In fact, each week we operate around 3,000 flights to nearly 40 destinations across Australia, New Zealand, Asia and the Pacific. We also operate a fleet of more than 80 aircraft, including state-of-the-art Airbus A320/21 NEO aircraft and the Airbus A320 family and Boeing 787-8s. Every day we enable more people to takeoff to more places, more often.

Impressive numbers? What's even more impressive is the team of extraordinary people taking off together day in day out, flight after flight.

  • Supporting Group reporting, half-year and year-end reporting activities in partnership with Qantas Group External Reporting & Advice
  • Building and maintaining robust financial models across fleet, engineering, fixed assets, leases and strategic business initiatives
  • Assessing impacts to the profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow, and translating findings into meaningful business recommendations
  • Providing accounting support across PP&E, project accounting, lease accounting and CAPEX versus OPEX assessments
  • Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, analysis packs, disclosures and supporting reporting documentation
  • Supporting month-end reporting activities and investigating complex accounting and reporting matters
  • Assessing accounting and control implications arising from process, system and operational changes
  • Embedding accounting outcomes into sustainable BAU processes, controls and governance frameworks
  • Supporting audit requirements, continuous improvement initiatives and broader Financial Control projects

About You

We're looking for someone who:

  • Holds a CA or CPA qualification and a degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
  • Brings strong technical accounting knowledge and experience interpreting and applying AASB and IFRS standards
  • Has advanced financial modelling and Excel skills, with the ability to build transparent and auditable models
  • Has experience supporting statutory, Group or external financial reporting in a large or complex organisation
  • Demonstrates practical financial control experience including month-end reporting, reconciliations and balance sheet ownership
  • Understands the interaction between accounting treatment, systems, controls and reporting outcomes
  • Can manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work within tight reporting deadlines
  • Communicates effectively and confidently with finance and operational stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience in aviation, transport, infrastructure, energy or another asset-intensive industry will be highly regarded

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
