Job Description

Permanent | Brisbane | Hybrid

Are you a talented writer with a natural curiosity for business, markets and the stories behind complex issues? Join QIC in a broad, hands-on communications role spanning corporate communications, media relations, issues management and internal communications. You’ll work closely with our investment teams and communications specialists, translating complex topics into clear, engaging content while helping strengthen QIC’s reputation.

About the role

Reporting to the Corporate Communications Manager, you’ll support communications across QIC’s business and investment teams, from proactive media opportunities and corporate campaigns to emerging issues and internal engagement. We’re looking for a curious and motivated communications professional who loves writing, enjoys getting across complex topics and wants to broaden their experience across corporate communications, media and internal engagement.

Key responsibilities:

  • Write and edit compelling content including media releases, messaging, briefing notes, talking points, commentary and thought leadership.
  • Develop communications plans, key messages, media materials and media lists.
  • Support media relations, issues management and crisis communications, including media enquiries and spokesperson briefings.
  • Monitor, report and analyse media coverage, identifying insights to inform future communications and media opportunities.
  • Advise and support investment teams and other stakeholders to communicate complex topics clearly.
  • Contribute to internal communications and engagement, including leadership updates, employee content and campaigns.

About you

You’re a proactive and adaptable communications professional who brings sound judgement, strong attention to detail and genuine enthusiasm for learning.

You’ll bring:

  • Experience in corporate communications, media relations or PR, either in-house or agency.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills with an ability to make complex information clear and engaging.
  • Experience across media relations, communications planning and content development.
  • Strong business curiosity and an interest in understanding financial markets and investments including our real estate portfolio.
  • Sound judgement, attention to detail and confidence building relationships with a range of stakeholders.
  • A collaborative mindset and eagerness to learn and broaden your communications experience.
  • Experience in financial services, funds management, banking or consulting would be highly regarded.

If you love writing, are curious about business and markets, and want to build broad communications experience, we’d love to hear from you.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
