The Engineering & Infrastructure Services (EIS) org is seeking a talented IT Software Developer to join our organization and contribute to the development of enterprise applications, data platforms, and AI-enabled solutions that support engineering and business operations across Qualcomm.

As a Qualcomm IT Software Developer, you will be involved in designing, developing, implementing, and supporting modern software applications and data solutions. This role combines full-stack application development, data engineering and operational support responsibilities. You will work closely with software engineers, data engineers, data analysts, AI engineers and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, reliable, and secure solutions.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to Qualcomm's future AI initiatives, platform modernization efforts, and enterprise data ecosystem while developing expertise in Artificial Intelligence, Elasticsearch, Clickhouse, MongoDB, Full-Stack Development and Data Pipelines.

This role requires full-time onsite work in San Diego, CA (5 days per week).

This role is not eligible for Qualcomm immigration sponsorship.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

* Applies knowledge and experience to design, develop, create, modify, and validate software applications, services, and enterprise solutions.

* Develops and supports modern full-stack applications using front-end and back-end technologies.

* Designs, develops, and maintains APIs, microservices, and integration services supporting enterprise platforms.

* Develops and supports scalable data pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, validation, indexing, and analytics.

* Implements and maintains solutions leveraging MongoDB, Elasticsearch and relational database technologies.

* Contributes to developing data intensive applications using databases like Clickhouse and/or Cloud databases.

* Contributes to the design and development of AI-enabled applications, intelligent search capabilities, and future Generative AI initiatives.

* Collaborates with product owners, business stakeholders, architects, and engineering teams to deliver business-critical solutions.

* Participates in platform modernization initiatives including automation, architectural improvements and migration of legacy applications.

* Performs troubleshooting, root cause analysis, monitoring, and issue resolution across production applications and data platforms.

* Shares ownership of operational support, application maintenance and continuous service improvement activities.

* Participates in design reviews, code reviews, testing, deployment activities and release management processes.

* Follows software engineering best practices to ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, secure and reliable.

* Learns and adopts emerging technologies, frameworks and AI capabilities to drive innovation and improve business outcomes.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related technical field.

* 2+ years of experience in software development, data engineering, application development, or related technical roles.

OR

* 4+ years of relevant work experience without a Bachelor's degree.

* 2+ years of experience with application development using Python, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript or similar programming languages.

* Experience building or supporting enterprise software applications and services.

* Understanding of software engineering fundamentals including object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms and design principles.

Preferred Qualifications

* 2+ years of experience with full-stack application development using React, Angular, Node.js, or similar frameworks.

* Experience developing and supporting data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and data integration solutions.

* Experience with MongoDB and NoSQL database technologies.

* Experience with Elasticsearch, enterprise search systems, indexing strategies or analytics platforms.

* Exposure to Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), or Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures.

* Experience developing REST APIs, microservices, and distributed applications.

* Knowledge of event-driven architectures, messaging systems or streaming platforms such as Kafka.

* Familiarity with cloud platforms such as GCP, Azure, or AWS.

* Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps methodologies.

* Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and application-support skills.

* Ability to balance development responsibilities with operational support ownership.

* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication and collaboration skills.

* Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn emerging technologies and contribute to innovation initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 3+ years of IT-relevant work experience with a Bachelor's degree in a technical field (e.g., Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems). OR 5+ years of IT-relevant work experience without a Bachelor’s degree. • 3+ years of any combination of academic or work experience with Full-stack Application Development (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript, etc.) • 1+ year of any combination of academic or work experience with Data Structures, algorithms, and data stores. *Completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years (Master’s = one year, Doctorate = two years) of the general IT-related work experience.

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:

$51.90 - $77.90

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on sales-incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus).
