Industrial Paint & Material Handling Technician

Location: York, PA Job Type: Contract to Hire Shifts: 1st & 2nd Shift Available Pay: Up to $23.00/hour, depending on experience 2nd Shift Differential: +$3.00/hour

Position Overview

Seeking a hands-on Industrial Paint & Material Handling Technician for a busy production shop. Industrial painting makes up approximately 20% of the role, with the remaining time dedicated to material movement, rigging, equipment operation, and other shop responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare surfaces and apply industrial coatings.
  • Operate overhead cranes and forklifts to move materials.
  • Load, unload, stage, and position materials.
  • Perform rigging for materials and equipment.
  • Use tape measures and other measuring tools accurately.
  • Support production and general shop operations.
  • Complete required respiratory fit testing.
  • Follow PPE, chemical-handling, and workplace safety requirements.
  • Assist with different tasks and work areas as production needs change.

Requirements

  • Industrial or production painting experience.
  • Knowledge of industrial painting methods and proper application techniques.
  • Experience operating overhead cranes, forklifts, or similar equipment.
  • Material rigging and loading/unloading experience.
  • Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately.
  • Ability to pass a respiratory fit test.
  • Understanding of industrial safety practices and PPE.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to perform a variety of shop and production duties beyond painting.
