Industrial Painter & Material Handler
Location: York, PA Job Type: Contract-to-Hire Shifts: 1st and 2nd Shift Available Pay: Up to $23.00/hour, depending on experience 2nd Shift Differential: Additional $3.00/hour
Job Overview
Seeking a hands-on Industrial Painter & Material Handler to support daily shop production. Industrial painting accounts for approximately 20% of the role, with the remaining time focused on material handling, rigging, equipment operation, and general production tasks.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces and apply industrial coatings using proper painting techniques.
- Operate overhead cranes and forklifts to move, load, unload, stage, and position materials.
- Perform rigging for materials and equipment.
- Use tape measures and other measuring tools accurately.
- Assist with production activities and tasks across different shop areas.
- Complete required respiratory fit testing and follow PPE, chemical-handling, and workplace safety procedures.
Requirements
- Experience with industrial or production painting and coating application.
- Experience operating overhead cranes, forklifts, or similar material-handling equipment.
- Knowledge of rigging, load handling, and safe loading/unloading practices.
- Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately.
- Ability to pass a respiratory fit test.
- Understanding of industrial safety procedures, PPE, and chemical handling.
- Strong organization, multitasking, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, collaborate with a team, and perform varied production duties beyond painting.
