  This job posting is for an existing vacancy.   We're looking for our next Supervisor, Income. Could It Be You?   The Supervisor, Income works collaboratively within the management group to coordinate the activities of our Analysts and successfully meet the needs of the business. You will monitor service quality to ensure service levels are consistently achieved, resolving issues efficiently and effectively, and you will collect, interpret, and report on metrics. You will oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of the income functions and mitigate market risk by ensuring deadline integrity, acting as the final point of escalation for complex queries. This role is designed to ensure that back-office processing never compromises the client experience or the firm's capital.   Need more details? Keep reading…   In this role, responsibilities include but are not limited to:  

Applying strong knowledge of dividends, distributions, interest, and entitlement payments, along with their tax, trade, and settlement implications

Actively monitoring the team's timely and accurate processing of dividend and distribution payments, including event set-up, announcement review, and the processing of various distribution events (spin-offs, optional stock dividend elections, rights distributions, stock splits, foreign elections, and DRIPs), as well as reconciling, monitoring, and posting entitlements to client accounts

Creating and maintaining process and procedure documentation

Liaising with external vendors as required, and maintaining productive relationships with third-party service providers including Broadridge, transfer agents, and other financial counterparties

Reviewing and signing off on daily reports for the function, and escalating breaks and risks promptly

Researching and responding to inquiries from internal business groups, depositories, agents, clients, and issuers, and supporting and de-escalating client inquiries and requests in a timely manner

Serving as a resource for junior staff, with an understanding of all departmental procedures and market practices

Leading the practical use of n8n, SQL, Python, and AI in day-to-day operations

Fostering a culture of operational excellence by continually identifying opportunities to eliminate manual effort, reduce errors, and shorten processing time, and building the business case to implement the change

Coordinating project initiatives with partners in Operations, Technology, Tax, Risk, Trading, and Compliance

Initiating or participating in projects, communicating project status, and providing timely escalation of issues to your manager to ensure project objectives are met

Supporting the growth of the team, including planning for staffing and workflow allocation

Assessing training needs within the team, with a focus on coaching and the growth of any direct reports

Taking on special projects as assigned

  So are YOU our next Supervisor, Income? You are if you…  

Have 4+ years of experience in dividends, distributions, or entitlements, including time leading a team

Have experience working in clearing operations or a back office

Have a post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field

Have excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills

Have excellent analytical and accounting skills, and can accurately determine complex entitlement payments and finalize end-to-end processes

Work well under pressure in a fast-paced, high-risk environment while maintaining a professional manner

Have technical skills in Python, SQL, Google Workspace, workflow automation (n8n), and AI tools

Have completed CSI courses such as the CSC and the CPH exam

Have experience using Broadridge BPS

This position sits within Questrade, in Brokerage Operations, and reports to the Senior Manager, Corporate Actions and Income.

This position has one direct report (Analyst, Entitlements). You will partner closely with the Supervisor, Settlements and the Supervisor, Securities Lending and Finance.

This is a Full Time Regular position based in the GTA.

  Compensation Information:  

Base salary range: $75,000 - $85,000

The final compensation package will be commensurate with the successful candidate's experience, skills, and geographic location (Canada). It includes a comprehensive benefits plan and a competitive incentive (bonus) program for Full-Time Permanent roles.
