At Quincy Medical Group, you are supported to do your best work and make a meaningful impact every day. You will be part of a collaborative, physician-led team that works as one and puts patients at the center of everything we do.

With a connected network of providers, care teams, and services across primary and specialty care, surgery centers, imaging, lab, and therapy, you are part of a system designed to deliver high-quality, coordinated care. Together, we create an environment where you can grow, contribute, and help improve the experience and outcomes for every patient we serve.

About the Role:

As an RN Circulator at Quincy Medical Group, you will be an essential member of the surgical team, coordinating patient care throughout the operative experience and helping maintain a safe, efficient surgical environment. You will work closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, nurses, and other team members to ensure each patient receives high-quality, individualized care.

This role is a great fit for an RN who thrives in a procedural environment, communicates well across a multidisciplinary team, and can anticipate needs while keeping patient safety at the center of every decision.

Schedule & Work Environment

  • Full-time, four 9–10 hour shifts per week.
  • Typical start times are between 6:00–6:30 a.m., with shifts ending between 3:00–4:00 p.m. based on the established schedule.
  • This position works in a fast-paced surgical environment and requires flexibility based on procedure schedules and patient care needs.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Coordinate nursing care throughout the surgical procedure and serve as the patient's advocate while in the operating room.
  • Complete appropriate patient assessments, verify required documentation, and ensure readiness for surgery.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and other team members to prepare for each procedure.
  • Maintain a safe operating room environment and ensure appropriate sterile technique, infection prevention, and surgical safety practices are followed.
  • Assist with patient positioning, skin preparation, equipment, supplies, medications, specimens, and other needs throughout the procedure.
  • Perform and document required surgical counts in collaboration with the surgical technologist or appropriate team member.
  • Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and respond appropriately to changes in the patient's condition or procedure.
  • Accurately document intraoperative nursing care, medications, specimens, implants, and other required information in the electronic medical record.
  • Communicate relevant patient information during transitions of care and support a safe handoff following the procedure.
  • Participate in quality, safety, and process improvement initiatives within the surgical environment.

Qualifications

  • Current Illinois Registered Nurse license required.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program required.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification required.
  • Previous operating room, perioperative, procedural, or surgical nursing experience preferred.
  • Strong nursing assessment and clinical judgment skills with the ability to recognize and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition.
  • Knowledge of sterile technique, infection prevention, and surgical safety practices preferred.
  • Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills with the ability to remain focused in a fast-paced procedural environment.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits that include healthcare navigation assistance.
  • Access to a mental health benefit at no cost.
  • Employer provided life and disability insurance.
  • $5,250 Tuition Reimbursement per year.
  • Immediate 401(k) match.
  • 40 hours paid volunteer time off.
  • A culture committed to community engagement and social impact.
  • Up to 12 weeks parental leave at 100% pay and a financial benefit for adoption and surrogacy for non-physician team members once eligibility requirements are met.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
