Position Title: Procurement Specialist – NPI Commodity Lead

Role Overview

The Procurement Specialist - NPI Commodity Lead is a member of the Operations organization responsible for executing sourcing activities for assigned commodities in support of New Product Introduction (NPI) programs. This role works closely with Product Line Design Engineering, NPI Program Teams, and Commodity Management to support supplier selection, sourcing strategy, quoting, qualification, and material readiness throughout the product development lifecycle.

The Commodity Lead is accountable for managing cost, quality, delivery, and supply continuity for assigned commodities from product development through transition to global production. This role is responsible for establishing and maintaining a strong supply chain foundation that supports the product throughout its lifecycle.

The primary commodity responsibility for this position will be Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBAs), although additional commodity assignments may be required.

Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, persistence, analytical thinking, and the ability to manage and interpret complex data sets using spreadsheets and other sourcing tools.

Key Responsibilities

Commodity Sourcing & Supplier Selection

  • Own sourcing execution for assigned commodities, in alignment with approved/preferred supply base strategy, dual‑sourcing objectives, and the company’s diverse supplier initiatives.
  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers based on cost, quality, lead time, capacity, and technical capability.

Cost & Commercial Management

  • Lead cost negotiations and ensure alignment with budget targets, program requirements, and Ralliant‑preferred payment terms.
  • Support cost analysis and trade‑off discussions in coordination with the Procurement Lead and Engineering.

Purchase Order & Transactional Execution

  • Issue purchase orders for materials and services in support of NPI development builds and qualification activities.
  • Manage purchase order changes, ensuring confirmations are obtained for original and revised orders.
  • Resolve invoice discrepancies and issues identified through Hold and OIC reporting.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with the NPI Procurement Lead and NPI Core Team members (Program Management, Engineering, Quality, NPD, NPS) to ensure delivery commitments, specifications, and quality requirements are met.
  • Actively participate in Commodity Team meetings and support the strategic direction established by the Commodity Manager.

Supply Chain & Supplier Management

  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with suppliers to support NPI execution and launch readiness.
  • Monitor supplier performance and material availability, escalating risks or issues as appropriate.

Issue Resolution & Escalation

  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve procurement issues including supplier delays, shortages, or unexpected cost impacts.
  • Escalate critical concerns in a timely manner to the Procurement Lead and/or Commodity Manager.

Reporting & Communication

  • Provide formal weekly status reports to the NPI Procurement Manager in alignment with department SOPs.
  • Proactively communicate emerging risks, constraints, or critical issues to Procurement and Commodity leadership.

Compliance & Continuous Improvement

  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, ethical standards, and legal requirements.
  • Apply Ralliant Business System (RBS) tools in daily work, actively participate in Kaizen events and Daily Management.

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 3–5 years of supply chain or procurement experience supporting new product development; Test & Measurement or high‑technology experience preferred.
  • Experience sourcing PCBAs and working with EMS suppliers.

Skills & Capabilities

  • Ability to align Engineering requirements with sourcing strategies and commodity plans.
  • Strong negotiation, cost analysis, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong teamwork and influencing capabilities in a cross‑functional environment.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Experience using Oracle ERP or similar ERP systems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both Chinese and English required.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
