The posting

Overview

As a Principal Product Manager, screening combines credit, rental history, criminal background, identity, income, and employment information under compliance rules and client settings into a scorecard clients use to make leasing decisions. Other product managers own the individual screening capabilities. The Screening Platform orchestrates them and makes them available through reusable components in Realpage products and APIs for third-party partners, while supporting each product's distinct customer needs.

We are looking for a highly technical Senior Product Manager to drive product delivery for that platform. You will shape its roadmap and own its delivery and outcomes, working closely with engineering on the shared services and with other product managers on adoption in their products. You will also lead product delivery for the Screening Portal and third party integrations. This role calls for someone who can turn an ambitious, ambiguous platform effort into useful releases, make thoughtful trade-offs in a regulated business, and show how the work improves customer and business outcomes.

This role can be performed remotely, but requires regular availability during Eastern time zone mornings for live collaboration with engineering teams in India. Residence in the Eastern time zone is not required.

Responsibilities

Drive Screening platform roadmap and delivery

  • Translate the platform vision and strategy set by Product leadership into success measures and a rolling four-quarter roadmap for the shared Screening platform. Maintain a ready near-term backlog with engineering, and sequence work so each phase delivers a usable benefit.
  • Partner with engineering leaders and architects on service boundaries, API contracts, data flows, configuration, and migration choices. Bring customer needs and business trade-offs into technical decisions while engineering owns implementation and technical design.
  • Make data architecture an explicit part of the platform roadmap. Partner with engineering to establish common screening data definitions, schemas, and contracts, and plan how data across existing stores will be reconciled, migrated, and used for reporting and audit history.
  • Define how shared screening behavior remains consistent across products, including compliance-sensitive logic, while allowing deliberate flexibility for each consuming product's workflow and customer needs.
  • Lead the cross-product adoption plan: identify dependencies, agree on interfaces and milestones, and make progress and decisions visible. Product managers for consuming products retain ownership of the implementation and delivery work in their areas.

Build experiences and channels on the shared platform

  • Own the Screening Portal experience for customers who run and review screenings, improving clarity, usability, and access to the information needed to act.
  • Lead product delivery for third-party Screening integrations and APIs. Learn what partners need, define reliable integration experiences, and make it easier to onboard and support new partners without duplicating core screening logic.
  • Work directly with customers, internal product teams, partners, Support, and operations to discover problems, validate proposed solutions, and adjust priorities based on evidence.

Deliver measurable, compliant outcomes

  • Improve the speed and quality of screening decisions, with attention to time to decision, time to lease, applicant and staff effort, and refining solutions that help clients minimize bad debt. Define measures and baselines with the teams that influence these outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities to automate screening and operational work where Legal and Compliance requirements permit. Partner with those teams so disclosures, decisions, auditability, and regulatory changes are designed into the product.
  • Plan migrations and launches with the teams that own existing products. Prepare customer communications, Sales and Support enablement, adoption measures, and feedback loops so new capabilities work in practice.
  • Serve as the lead product manager in the Screening platform group. Guide and mentor product management work in the platform group.
  • Use AI tools in your own product work to improve research, analysis, specifications, and communication. Evaluate product automation on its merits, with appropriate controls for accuracy, privacy, and compliance.

Qualifications

Required

  • 5+ years of product management experience in software or SaaS, including meaningful ownership of a technically complex platform, shared service, API product, or integration ecosystem.
  • A record of identifying solutions and delivering measurable customer or business outcomes, including work that began with an ambiguous problem rather than a ready-made requirements list.
  • Technical fluency with APIs, service boundaries, data models and schemas, data flows, and integration patterns. You can work credibly with engineers and architects, understand trade-offs, and write clear product requirements without needing to be the software architect.
  • Experience coordinating delivery across multiple product and engineering teams, including teams you do not manage, while making ownership and dependencies clear.
  • Direct customer discovery experience and the ability to use qualitative and quantitative evidence to change a roadmap.
  • Strong written communication, analytical judgment, and the ability to explain complex choices to technical and nontechnical partners.
  • Practical use of AI tools in your product management workflow, with examples of how they improved your work.
  • Regular availability during Eastern time zone mornings to collaborate with India-based engineering teams.

Preferred

  • Experience with consumer reporting, criminal background screening, or another regulated product where Legal or Compliance is a close partner.
  • Experience with platform migrations, shared service adoption, customer-facing portals, or third-party API programs.
  • Familiarity with property technology, multifamily housing, leasing, or screening. Screening domain knowledge is helpful but not required.
  • Comfort exploring product and operational data directly, including through SQL or similar tools.

How We'll Measure Success

  • More screening activity and more consuming products use shared capabilities without creating separate versions of core logic.
  • Customers and partners can adopt Screening capabilities with less integration effort and a clearer, more consistent experience.
  • Screening decisions become faster, and fewer screenings require staff to investigate, correct, or restart a stalled process. The platform's data architecture supports reliable tracking of client KPIs, including time to decision and time to lease, and comparison of screening recommendations with later lease outcomes to assess decision quality.
  • Compliance changes and platform releases become easier to implement, validate, and support across products.
  • The platform roadmap, migration dependencies, and contribution expected from each consuming product team stay clear and actionable.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
