The posting

NOTE: THIS IS A 4-MONTH CONTRACT WITH POSIBILITY OF EXTENSION Duties and Responsibilities

Design, code, test and deploy custom WMS functionality in Advantage Architect, including process objects, business logic and database actions. Build and modify RF (handheld) and web screens using Page Editor to support client-specific warehouse workflows. Configure and extend core warehouse processes, including receiving, putaway, replenishment, order release, picking, packing, shipping, cycle counting and returns, for new and existing 3PL clients. Develop client onboarding solutions: owner, item and location setup, client-specific rules, and labels and documents such as GS1/UCC-128 labels, bills of lading and packing lists. Write clear, maintainable code to Remco development standards and take part in peer code reviews. Keep all custom code in source control and promote changes through Development, Test and Production using a documented change and release process. No direct changes in Production without approval. Build customizations so they survive vendor upgrades: extend rather than modify core vendor objects, and document every customization.

Database Development (MS SQL Server)

Write and optimize T-SQL stored procedures, functions, triggers and views supporting WMS logic, integrations and reporting. Design tables and data structures for custom extensions, and tune queries and indexes to keep WMS transactions fast at peak volume. Build and maintain SSIS packages and SQL Agent jobs for data loads, extracts and scheduled processes. Develop SSRS and Crystal reports and operational dashboards, including inventory accuracy, productivity and order status. Build accurate billing data extracts for storage, handling and value-added services to support client invoicing.

Systems Integration, EDI and APIs

Develop and maintain integrations between the WMS and Remco systems, including TMW, the EDI platform, Infios Labour Management, and client ERP and order systems. Build, map and test EDI X12 transactions with clients and trading partners, including 940, 945, 943, 944, 846 and 856. Develop, consume and test REST and SOAP APIs and file-based interfaces (XML, JSON, CSV, flat file). Coordinate integration testing with trading-partner IT representatives and implement maps and interfaces into production. Monitor interfaces daily, resolve failures and data errors quickly, and report recurring issues to the WMS Project Manager. Support integration with RF devices, label printers and material handling or automation equipment as required.

Testing, Deployment and Support

Write unit tests and test cases, and support SIT, FIT and UAT, including test scripts and test data. Prepare release notes and deployment steps, and support go-lives, client launches and site cutovers. Provide second-level support for WMS incidents, including root cause analysis and permanent fixes. Take part in after-hours support for go-lives and critical issues. Regression-test and retrofit custom code for vendor upgrades and patches. Document product defects with technical detail for escalation to Infios, and work with the vendor through resolution.

Requirements, Documentation and Collaboration

Gather requirements from operations and clients, translate them into technical specifications, and provide effort estimates. Maintain technical documentation: design specifications, code and configuration notes, integration maps and support runbooks. Crosstrain IT team members on custom solutions to reduce dependence on anyone. Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications

Post-secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field. 3+ years of hands-on development on HighJump / Körber / Infios Warehouse Advantage, including Advantage Architect and Page Editor. Candidates with 2 years and strong SQL Server and .NET skills will be considered. Strong T-SQL skills: stored procedures, functions, triggers, indexing and query performance tuning on MS SQL Server. Programming experience in C# / .NET (or Java), object-oriented design, and REST / SOAP web services with JSON and XML. Experience with EDI X12 mapping and warehouse transaction sets (940, 945, 943, 944, 846, 856). Experience with SSIS, SSRS and/or Crystal Reports, and data modelling (logical and physical). Knowledge of warehouse processes in a multi-client 3PL environment, from receiving to shipping, including inventory control, labelling and billing. Experience with source control (e.g., Git or Azure DevOps) and structured change and release management. Experience across the full software development lifecycle, from requirements and design through testing, deployment and support, in Agile or waterfall projects. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, including working with complex data and resolving production issues under time pressure. Clear written and verbal communication with operations, clients, trading partners and vendors. Ability to work independently and in a team, with availability for occasional after-hours support and travel to Remco sites. Assets: Infios Labour Management, RF / MHE integration, WMS version upgrades, and French (Montreal site).

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
