This role is responsible for accelerating profitable growth by developing market-specific go-to-market strategies, expanding distribution and brand presence, and evaluating new market-entry models. The position owns the regional profit and loss statement and drives coordinated execution across sales, marketing, commercial strategy, partnerships, licensing, and market development.

The successful candidate is a commercially minded leader who can build long-range plans, translate strategy into seasonal targets, negotiate complex agreements, lead distributor-facing teams, and maintain a strong presence in priority markets.

As the Sr. Manager, Sales & Market Development, you will have an opportunity to:

International Strategy, Growth and Market Development

  • Develop and execute market-specific go-to-market strategies across all four brands to accelerate sustainable, profitable growth.
  • Lead new business development initiatives that expand distribution, market share, and brand presence across Latin America and Asia Pacific.
  • Evaluate and establish direct market operations through acquisitions, greenfield investments, or other strategic expansion models.
  • Develop and execute joint venture strategies in priority markets, including China, Korea, and Japan, and create partnership models that extend beyond traditional distributor relationships.
  • Identify, assess, and develop licensing opportunities that increase brand reach and profitability.
  • Maintain a significant presence in priority geographies through frequent travel to accelerate growth, strengthen strategic partnerships, and assess expansion opportunities.

Sales and Commercial Leadership

  • Create and execute the international commercial strategy in alignment with enterprise and brand priorities.
  • Build seasonal sales targets for internal sales teams and distributor partners, monitor performance against plan, and adjust actions as needed.
  • Negotiate distribution contracts and commercial terms that support growth, profitability, brand standards, and long-term partnership value.
  • Lead and develop Distribution Managers, setting clear priorities, expectations, and performance goals.
  • Build the regional long-range plan, annual budget, sales forecast, and commercial operating plan.
  • Plan and lead internal and external sales meetings, distributor business reviews, and market performance discussions.
  • Present new seasonal product lines, brand direction, and commercial priorities to international distributors and dealers.
  • Create clear reporting and operating rhythms that improve visibility to opportunities, risks, and required decisions.

P&L and Regional Execution

  • Own the full profit and loss statement for International Sales and Market Development across Latin America and Asia Pacific.
  • Drive end-to-end regional execution across sales, marketing, commercial strategy, market development, and partner performance.
  • Manage revenue, margin, operating expense, investment priorities, and forecast accuracy in partnership with Finance and brand leadership.
  • Balance near-term commercial delivery with long-term market development and brand-building priorities.

Marketing and Go-to-Market Execution

  • Lead go-to-market execution through distributor partners and ensure alignment with brand standards, seasonal priorities, and market opportunities.
  • Review and audit distributor contractual marketing contributions, investment commitments, and supporting documentation.
  • Assess and approve distributor marketing spend in accordance with approved budgets, contractual requirements, and strategic priorities.
  • Manage and develop the APLA Marketing Specialist, ensuring strong alignment between commercial and marketing execution.
  • Advise on international team sponsorship strategy and evaluate opportunities based on brand fit, market impact, and commercial value.
  • Lead the development of retail stores, shop-in-shop concepts, and in-store activations that strengthen consumer experience and brand presence.

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Provide clear direction, coaching, and accountability to direct reports and cross-functional partners.
  • Build strong relationships with distributor principals, joint venture partners, dealers, brand leaders, Finance, Legal, Marketing, Operations, and other key stakeholders.
  • Establish a culture of disciplined execution, collaborative problem-solving, sound judgment, and continuous improvement.
  • Represent regional market needs and opportunities in enterprise planning and decision-making forums.
  • Ensure business activities are conducted with integrity and in alignment with company policies, contractual commitments, and applicable laws.

You have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, International Business, Finance, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in international sales, distribution, commercial leadership, market development, or a related field, including leadership responsibility.
  • Demonstrated experience owning a regional P&L, annual budget, forecast, and long-range plan.
  • Proven success developing distributor networks, negotiating commercial agreements, and leading complex partner relationships.
  • Experience evaluating market-entry strategies such as direct operations, acquisitions, greenfield investments, joint ventures, and licensing.
  • Experience leading business across Latin America and/or Asia Pacific; familiarity with China, Korea, and Japan strongly preferred.
  • Ability to translate brand and enterprise strategy into market-specific commercial plans and measurable execution.
  • Strong executive communication, presentation, negotiation, financial analysis, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to lead through influence in a complex, multi-brand, cross-functional environment.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
