The Opportunity:

The Director, US Medical Affairs – Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC) will support the development of the US medical strategy and lead execution of assigned medical priorities across the NSCLC portfolio. The role spans first-line and subsequent-line treatment settings and includes pre-launch planning, launch readiness, post-approval medical activities, and lifecycle planning.

As a member of the US Medical Affairs Team (USMAT), the Director will translate evolving clinical evidence, external expert perspectives, and field insights into focused medical objectives and actionable plans. The individual will serve as an NSCLC scientific expert and partner across US and Global Medical Affairs, Field Medical, Clinical Development and Operations, Medical Information and Communications, HEOR/RWE, Biomarker and Companion Diagnostics, Commercial, Market Access, Patient Advocacy, Regulatory, Safety, Legal, and Compliance.

The ideal candidate brings strong lung cancer expertise, scientific rigor, and hands-on Medical Affairs experience. This individual can communicate complex evidence clearly, influence across functions, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Contributes to the US NSCLC medical strategy and annual portfolio plan; lead assigned tactics with clear objectives, timelines, budgets, and measures of impact.
  • Conducts evidence and practice-gap assessments, incorporating US treatment patterns, stakeholder needs, competitive developments, and field insights to refine medical priorities.
  • Supports launch readiness, launch execution, and lifecycle planning across NSCLC assets in alignment with US and Global Medical Affairs strategies.
  • Leads or support scientific engagement with US external experts through advisory boards, investigator interactions, congress activities, and peer-to-peer scientific exchange.
  • Partners with US Field Medical on scientific priorities, insight-generation plans, training, and resources that support high-quality scientific exchange.
  • Synthesizes insights from external experts, field teams, advisory boards, and congresses; communicate implications and recommend actions to internal stakeholders.
  • Serves as an NSCLC medical content expert on cross-functional teams, providing scientifically balanced input into US strategic discussions and decisions.
  • Partners with HEOR/RWE, Clinical Development, and Biomarker/Companion Diagnostics teams on evidence-generation priorities, including patient identification, molecular testing, treatment sequencing, safety management, and patient outcomes.
  • Collaborates with Clinical Development, Clinical Operations, and Field Medical to support protocol review, site and investigator engagement, and appropriate trial awareness and enrollment activities.
  • Contributes to publication, congress, medical communications, and data-disclosure plans; develop or review scientific presentations, abstracts, manuscripts, educational content, and medical information response documents.
  • Provides medical leadership for assigned US congress activities, scientific symposia, advisory boards, and internal education, ensuring scientific accuracy and consistency.
  • Partners with Patient Advocacy to incorporate patient and caregiver perspectives, and with Grants teams to identify priorities for independent medical education.
  • Collaborates with Safety and Clinical teams on education and scientific exchange concerning adverse-event recognition and management in NSCLC.
  • Manages assigned vendors and resources, track execution and outcomes, and conduct all activities in accordance with applicable requirements, company policies, and Revolution Medicines Core Values.

Required Skills, Experience and Education:

  • Advanced clinical or scientific degree such as PharmD, PhD, MD, DO, or equivalent.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in biotechnology or pharmaceutical Medical Affairs and/or clinical oncology practice, including substantive hands-on Medical Affairs experience.
  • Strong scientific background in lung cancer, with direct NSCLC experience and an understanding of biomarker-driven treatment and the US treatment landscape.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze, synthesize, and communicate complex clinical evidence with scientific accuracy and appropriate balance.
  • Hands-on experience across core Medical Affairs activities, including medical planning, external expert engagement, field medical partnership, medical communications, evidence generation, congresses, advisory boards, and training.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and influence across functions, manage multiple projects and stakeholders, and deliver against agreed priorities.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with sound judgment and a commitment to ethical scientific exchange.
  • Ability to travel approximately 30–40% for external expert engagements, medical congresses, and internal meetings, including visits to Redwood City headquarters.

Preferred Skills:

  • Established relationships with US thoracic oncology experts, investigators, and multidisciplinary care stakeholders in academic and community settings.
  • Experience supporting US oncology launch readiness, launch execution, or post-launch medical strategy.
  • Experience in precision oncology, RAS biology, targeted therapies, molecular testing, and companion diagnostics.
  • Experience supporting clinical-trial strategy or execution, including protocol review, site engagement, enrollment support, and clinical data interpretation.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
