This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Cloud Vendor Management Specialist based in India.
We are seeking an experienced Cloud Vendor Management Specialist to oversee the full lifecycle of technology vendor relationships, from onboarding and due diligence to contract negotiations, performance monitoring, and renewals. In this role, you will work closely with Procurement, Finance, FinOps, Legal, Security, and IT teams to ensure vendor partnerships deliver measurable business value. You will evaluate cloud services, data center infrastructure, cybersecurity solutions, enterprise software, and managed services while ensuring compliance, operational reliability, and cost efficiency. Through data-driven analysis and strategic negotiations, you will identify opportunities to optimize spending, reduce risk, and improve service performance. You will also contribute to financial planning, vendor governance, and technology modernization initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who combines commercial expertise, financial acumen, and technology knowledge in a collaborative, global, and remote working environment.
Accountabilities:
- Vendor Onboarding and Due Diligence: Manage the end-to-end vendor onboarding process, including supplier registration, documentation, internal approvals, and procurement workflows. Ensure vendors meet security, privacy, legal, financial, insurance, compliance, and operational requirements before services are approved. Maintain accurate vendor records, risk classifications, documentation, and renewal schedules.
- Vendor Evaluation and Selection: Coordinate assessments of cloud services, data center infrastructure, cybersecurity solutions, enterprise software, telecommunications, hardware, and managed services. Establish evaluation criteria covering technical suitability, security, compliance, financial stability, scalability, service quality, implementation risks, and total cost of ownership. Support requests for information and proposals, product demonstrations, proofs of concept, and reference checks. Prepare comparative analyses and recommendations to support informed vendor selection.
- Contract Management and Renewals: Oversee vendor renewal schedules and initiate planning early enough to support budgeting, competitive assessments, negotiations, and approvals. Review contracts, statements of work, pricing schedules, licensing terms, service-level agreements, support provisions, renewal clauses, and termination conditions in collaboration with Procurement and Legal. Compare renewal proposals with historical spending, previous agreements, usage data, market benchmarks, and alternative suppliers. Identify pricing discrepancies, redundant services, unused licenses, unfavorable commitments, and negotiation opportunities.
- Vendor Relationship and Performance Management: Build and maintain productive vendor relationships throughout onboarding, implementation, ongoing operations, renewal, and offboarding. Organize operational reviews, quarterly business reviews, renewal discussions, and executive meetings. Maintain vendor scorecards and monitor service-level performance, delivery quality, responsiveness, contractual compliance, and risk exposure. Coordinate escalations involving service disruptions, unresolved incidents, delayed deliverables, and commercial disputes, ensuring timely resolution and minimal business impact.
- FinOps and Financial Optimization: Collaborate with Finance, FinOps, Procurement, and technology stakeholders to improve spending visibility and financial performance across technology vendors. Analyze expenditure, consumption, licensing, maintenance costs, support coverage, and contractual commitments to identify savings and cost-avoidance opportunities. Support budgeting, forecasting, accruals, purchase-order planning, and variance analysis. Develop total cost of ownership, return on investment, unit-cost, and multi-year financial models to support vendor selection, renewals, migrations, and modernization initiatives.
- Governance, Reporting, and Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a central point of coordination between vendors and internal technical, financial, legal, security, procurement, compliance, and business teams. Maintain contract repositories, vendor documentation, renewal calendars, risk registers, performance reports, and decision records. Develop dashboards and management reports covering expenditure, savings, renewals, vendor performance, contract status, and risk. Support audits, third-party risk assessments, strategic sourcing, infrastructure modernization, and vendor offboarding activities while contributing to global cross-functional initiatives.
- Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Information Technology, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. At least four years of experience in vendor management, procurement, supplier management, contract administration, technology operations, strategic sourcing, or a related discipline.
- Technology Vendor Expertise: Demonstrated experience managing vendors providing cloud services, data center infrastructure, cybersecurity solutions, enterprise software, telecommunications, hardware maintenance, professional services, or managed services. Experience with vendor onboarding, due diligence, supplier approvals, contract renewals, and ongoing relationship management is essential.
- Contract and Commercial Analysis: Strong ability to assess commercial contracts, statements of work, licensing structures, service-level commitments, pricing schedules, renewal terms, and vendor proposals. Experience comparing commercial offers against historical agreements, usage patterns, market alternatives, and business requirements is required.
- Financial and Analytical Skills: Proficiency in spend analysis, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, total cost of ownership, return on investment, and cost optimization. Ability to develop financial models, evaluate commercial trade-offs, identify savings opportunities, and translate complex data into actionable recommendations.
- Communication and Stakeholder Management: Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation, organizational, documentation, and relationship-building skills. Ability to facilitate vendor meetings and collaborate effectively with technical teams, business owners, procurement specialists, finance professionals, legal representatives, and senior vendor stakeholders.
- Tools and Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in spreadsheets, presentation software, reporting tools, databases, and procurement or contract-management systems. Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and the ability to manage multiple vendor relationships, deadlines, approvals, renewals, and escalations simultaneously are essential.
- Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with NetSuite or comparable ERP, procurement, vendor-risk, or contract-lifecycle management platforms. Experience with hybrid infrastructure, on-premises data centers, VMware environments, public cloud platforms, cybersecurity operations, or enterprise technology modernization is advantageous. Knowledge of FinOps principles, software asset management, license optimization, third-party risk management, and technology procurement best practices is also desirable.
- Additional Advantages: Experience developing vendor scorecards, executive business reviews, sourcing recommendations, and multi-year commercial models. Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Amazon QuickSight is a plus. Certifications such as FinOps Certified Practitioner, CPSM, CSCP, PMP, or ITIL Foundation, or equivalent credentials in procurement, finance, or technology, are considered beneficial.
- Remote Work: Fully remote position based in India, offering flexibility in your work environment.
- Professional Development: Opportunities to strengthen expertise in cloud vendor management, strategic sourcing, financial optimization, and technology procurement.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with global stakeholders across technology, finance, procurement, legal, security, and business operations.
- Strategic Impact: Contribute to cost optimization, vendor governance, risk management, and technology modernization initiatives.
- Career Growth: Build valuable experience in technology supplier management, commercial negotiations, FinOps, and enterprise vendor strategy.
