Supply Chain & Logistics Material Handler Version: October 2026 Reports To: Sr. Supply Chain Manager Works Closely With: Purchasing, Production Departments Job Status: Full Time, Hourly Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week - Shift hours will be 2:00 AM to 10: 00 AM or 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Work Location: On-site; Saulter Compensation: $22.00/hour + $3.50/hour premium from 2:00am to 6:00am ($25.50/hour from 2:00am to 6:00am with premium) The Position The Material Handler/Receiver manages the receiving, inventory control, and organization of materials within the facility. This role ensures accurate verification of deliveries, proper inventory rotation, and ERP data entry to support production needs. Responsibilities include staging, labeling, and maintaining inventory, as well as operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pump trucks. The position also upholds cleanliness and organization in receiving, inventory, and loading dock areas, both inside and outside the facility. Key Responsibilities Receiving & Documentation
Receive all deliveries (products, ingredients, equipment, supplies) and verify accuracy and quality.
Ensure inbound materials are received into BC, barcoded, and scanned into the correct bin position.
Verify delivery receipts, invoices, and packing slips against purchase orders and the receiving calendar.
Update the warehouse receipts and report discrepancies, rejections, or returns.
Unload and load delivery trucks, moving products into storage, fridges, and freezers as required.
Prepare shipping documents, including packing slips, waybills, and bills of lading.
Coordinate with the purchasing coordinators and follow company purchasing policies.
Store all received goods in an organized and safe manner.
Assist in improving computer applications for warehouse, inventory, shipping, and receiving functions.
Inventory & Quality Control
Track on-hand quantities and locations of finished goods.
Store and organize inventory using proper methods and procedures.
Follow First-In/First-Out (FIFO) inventory rotation to maintain quality and minimize waste.
Conduct regular cycle counts and perform quality spot checks.
Keep receiving, loading dock (inside and outside), and inventory areas clean and organized.
Monitor and record fridge and freezer temperatures.
Support continuous improvement initiatives in warehouse and inventory management.
Staging & Safety
Follow the BC Movement Worksheet to ensure materials are staged accurately and on time.
Anticipate future requirements and prepare/temper ingredients in advance when applicable.
Identify and report potential shortages or quality issues to prevent production delays.
Provide exceptional service to internal teams and assist with Pack Team staging duties when needed.
Safely operate and maintain pump trucks, forklifts, and other warehouse equipment.
Follow all safety procedures to prevent workplace hazards and ensure a secure work environment.
Required Education & Experience
3+ years of warehouse experience
Valid forklift certification/license (Reach Truck & Walking Tow Motor)
High school diploma or equivalent
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and email communication
Strong written and verbal English communication skills

Description of physical demands and work environment This position is generally quite labour intensive and requires being on your feet, on the production floor, for up to 90% of the time. 10% of the time would then be dedicated to paperwork/computer work. There will be constant exposure to environmental conditions with varying transitional temperatures. Regular lifting of products, up to 50lbs, with repetitive motion can be expected. Proper lifting techniques and use of equipment provided is essential to prevent injury. We may require you to work outside of your core work hours on occasion. Role Specific Competencies
