Bookkeeper

Department: Accounting/Admin

Reports To: Controller

Position Type: Full-Time, Year Round

Schedule / Hours: Standard business hours; Monday-Friday

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Bookkeeper maintains financial transaction records and assists with day-to-day accounting and finance requirements. Confidentiality, excellent organizational skills, and accuracy are important qualifications, as well as good customer relations and the ability to communicate clearly. The ideal candidate is a skilled multitasker, is reliable, and is committed to consistently meeting deadlines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Enter member payments and vendor invoices.
  • Engage members as the first point of contact for billing inquiries.
  • Reconcile daily Point of Sale transactions, including tip splits.
  • Count and replenish daily cash bags.
  • Assist Controller with payroll processing, including reconciling benefit deductions and contributions.
  • Enter cash payment receipts and reconcile petty cash.
  • Process timely bank deposits.
  • Assist Controller with deposit and expense reconciliations.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bookkeeping experience required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and ideally Jonas software.
  • Experience with data entry, record keeping, and computer operation.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines consistently.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 lbs as needed.
