About Our Family

We’re a busy household with two school-age kids, a sweet dog, and schedules that often feel like they’re pulling in four different directions at once. Both parents have demanding careers, and while we have good systems in place, weekday afternoons and evenings are where things tend to get stretched. We’re organized and proactive, and we’re looking for someone who brings that same energy.

Our home has a warm, friendly vibe, and we want whoever joins us to feel like a trusted partner, not just someone working in the background. At the same time, we respect each other’s time and focus. With work calls, activities, and tight schedules often overlapping, we value someone who can read the room, take initiative, and confidently keep things moving.

Clear, straightforward communication is important to us. We want to build a relationship where expectations are clear, feedback goes both ways, and everyone feels comfortable speaking up and making adjustments along the way.

Ultimately, we’re looking for someone who genuinely enjoys supporting a family and wants to build a positive, long-term working relationship with us.

Who You Are / What We're Looking For

You’re dependable, hardworking, and the kind of person who shows up on time, every time. You’re organized and detail-oriented, but not rigid—you can adapt when schedules shift and priorities change. You’re proactive, notice what needs attention, and are comfortable taking initiative rather than always waiting to be asked.

You’re warm with kids, love pets, and understand how to support a busy household without taking over the responsibilities the kids are expected to manage themselves. You take direction well, ask thoughtful questions, and genuinely want to learn how the family likes things done.

Most importantly, you’re a calm and comfortable communicator. The family values someone who can give and receive feedback openly, communicate directly, and build a working relationship where everyone feels comfortable.

Key Responsibilities

Family Support

  • Drive children to and from activities, aftercare, and programs on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday afternoons (circuit typically runs from approximately 4:10 PM to 6:15 PM)
  • Anticipate and adapt to the children’s changing weekly schedules to help ensure everyone gets where they need to be on time
  • Provide light supervision and occasional backup childcare, including date night coverage on evenings with advance notice
  • Prep backpacks, clothing, and snacks as needed
  • Handle kid-related errands (seasonal items, sports gear, activity prep)

Meal Support

  • Prepare 1–2 lunches and 2–3 dinners per week using simple, healthy, family-friendly recipes, including basic meal prep such as chopping, light preparation, and reheating
  • Prep school lunches on an as-needed basis
  • Handle grocery shopping and maintain appropriate stock of pantry, refrigerator, and household essentials
  • Maintain a tidy and organized kitchen between cooking sessions

Laundry & Linens

  • Wash, fold, and place laundry in each bedroom (children are responsible for putting their own items away)
  • Rotate towels and bed linens on a regular schedule
  • Maintain tidy laundry areas

Household Organization & Maintenance

  • Light daily tidying: dishes, surfaces, vacuuming high-traffic areas
  • Seasonal clothing swaps for children
  • Indoor plant care
  • Routine maintenance tasks such as changing batteries, light bulbs, and smoke detector batteries
  • Occasional guest and holiday prep

Inventory & Errands

  • Restock pantry, fridge, and household supplies on an ongoing basis
  • Manage running household supply lists and place orders as needed (Amazon)
  • Coordinate returns, dry cleaning, occasional gift shopping, and other miscellaneous errands as needed
  • Bring in mail and packages and put away Instacart grocery deliveries

Pet Care

  • Occasional dog walking, light feeding, and pickup from doggy daycare when needed
  • Maintain pet supply inventory (food is on auto-ship)

Deep Cleaning & Special Projects

  • Occasional deep clean of the refrigerator
  • Help maintain and refresh the mudroom, garage, and entry areas, including gentle reminders to keep kids on track with their contribution to these spaces
  • Coordinate and be present for occasional vendor visits (plumber, repairs, etc.); research quotes as needed
  • Research and coordinate seasonal vendors such as Christmas light installation

Vehicle Upkeep

  • Schedule routine vehicle maintenance
  • Occasional fueling, cleaning, and organizing of the family vehicle

Administrative Support

  • Maintain household calendar, including kids' activity schedules, grocery lists, and weekly planning

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
