The posting

Title: House Manager & Family Assistant

Location: San Antonio, TX 78261

Employment Type: Part-Time (15–20 hours/week)

Start Date: ASAP

Compensation: $25–30/hour, based on experience

Schedule: Monday–Friday, daytime hours before 6 PM (open to 2–3 days/week or daily shorter shifts; flexibility considered)

Classification: 1099 preferred

Requirements

  • Maintain a smoke-free environment.
  • Pass background check.
  • Valid driver’s license & reliable transportation (mileage reimbursement for errands).
  • Comfortable around pets (two dogs and a parakeet).
  • Comfortable working in a busy household with children present.

About Our Family

We are a warm, energetic, and dynamic family of five with three children (ages 7, 5, and 3) and a joyful, busy household. We also have beloved pets, two large dogs and a parakeet. Our older children attend school full-time, and our youngest attends preschool part-time.

Both parents run businesses and work a mix of from-home and outside-the-home schedules. We have reliable childcare support, but we are looking for a proactive teammate who can support home operations, bring calm structure to our days, and help us stay ahead — especially with laundry, organization, meal support, and routines.

We value kindness, efficiency, and great communication — and we love someone who brings joy, warmth, and a can-do attitude into the home.

Who You Are / What We’re Looking For

You are patient, organized, and efficient — someone who communicates clearly, follows through, and works independently. You have excellent attention to detail and a proactive mindset: you notice what needs to be done before being asked. You bring a calm, joyful energy to your work and approach family life with discretion, warmth, and professionalism.

Our ideal candidate:

  • Calm and patient
  • A strong communicator
  • Consistent in follow-through
  • Detail-oriented and productive
  • Organized and reliable
  • Comfortable with pets
  • Self-directed but comfortable checking in for clarity
  • Able to anticipate needs and offer thoughtful suggestions or solutions
  • Flexible and steady under changing priorities
  • Enjoys being around children and familiar with/open to authoritative parenting principles with emotional support and boundaries
  • Maintains and respects privacy and discretion in all household matters

Key Responsibilities

Household Organization & Maintenance

  • Create and maintain household organization systems (closets, pantry, storage areas, toys, craft zones).
  • Reset and tidy rooms daily; make beds and prepare the home for weekly cleaning service.
  • Conduct seasonal clothing and décor swaps; manage storage bins and donations.
  • Prepare donation drop-offs/pickups.
  • Oversee household schedules, checklists, and family calendars.
  • Coordinate with service providers (cleaners, landscapers, contractors).
  • Help prep for family events, holidays, and guest visits.
  • Support packing/unpacking for travel
  • Load/unload dishwasher, wipe surfaces, vacuum high traffic areas, take out garbage and recycling
  • Assist with packing/unpacking for family travel
  • Help kids practice executive functioning (e.g., putting away clothing, tidying, organizing belongings, returning things to their place)

Inventory & Errands

  • Track, organize, and restock pantry, fridge, toiletries, children’s supplements, and household supplies.
  • Create and manage running household supply lists.
  • Coordinate and manage household orders (Amazon, Costco, Target, pet supplies, etc.).
  • Run errands such as groceries, dry cleaning, gift shopping, and returns.
  • Check mail and deliveries regularly.

Meal Support

  • Prep fruit, vegetables, and snack/lunch components for the week.
  • Prepare 1–2 family dinners per week (simple, healthy meals).
  • Grocery shop for meal prep and household staples.
  • Assist in packing school lunches or batch-cooking as needed.
  • Follow dietary needs of the family (gluten-free; avoid red-40 dye due to child’s sensitivity).
  • Clean kitchen post-prep and help keep kitchen tidy and organized.

Laundry & Linens

  • Wash, dry, fold, and organize family laundry daily (e.g., clothing, bedding, towels, etc.).
  • Manage linens: rotate bedding, refresh towels, restock essentials
  • Keep laundry areas tidy and well-stocked with supplies
  • Handle special care for delicates or uniforms

Pet Care

  • Feed and walk dogs (primarily execute breakfast routine).
  • Maintain parakeet care: refresh seed and water, replace tray liner weekly.
  • Schedule and coordinate grooming visits quarterly.
  • Keep pet supplies stocked and organized

Vehicle Upkeep

  • Schedule and oversee maintenance, oil changes, and inspections.
  • Take vehicle(s) for routine car washes.
  • Track registration, insurance, and service schedules.
  • Ensure vehicles are fueled, cleaned, and organized.
  • Mileage reimbursement for errands using personal vehicle.

Deep Cleaning & Special Projects

  • Deep clean appliances (fridge, oven) as needed and tackle monthly detail projects (humidifiers, shower heads, baseboards, etc.).
  • Refresh mudroom, entryway, or storage spaces seasonally.
  • Organize special projects such as toy storage, seasonal decorations, etc.
  • Research and coordinate repairs, maintenance, and quotes.
  • Research and manage routine upkeep within home property.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
