Title: House Manager & Meal Prep Support

Location: Seattle, WA 98112

Employment Type: Part-time (12-14 hours/week with opportunity to grow).

Proposed Start Date: ASAP

Compensation: $38–42/hour, based on experience.

Requirements:

  • Maintain a smoke-free environment
  • Reliable transportation and a clean driving record
  • Up-to-date Vaccinations (including COVID, Flu, MMR)

Proposed Schedule:

  • 2 days per week (Monday/Thursday OR Tuesday/Friday)
  • Flexible between the hours of 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM

About Our Family:

We’re a tight-knit family of three, including our joyful 4-month-old son. Both parents have demanding careers, with most of their work taking place in the office. We love spending quality time outdoors, hiking, enjoying cafes, cooking meals together, and strolling through the farmers' market. As our son will start daycare in July, we’re looking for someone who can help us keep our home organized, stress-free, and running smoothly while we focus on our work and family life. We value flexibility, calmness, and someone who can add an extra layer of support during our busy days.

Who We Are / What We’re Looking For:

We are seeking an experienced, professional house manager who is detail-oriented, organized, and takes initiative. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who thrives in a dynamic household and can independently manage a variety of tasks with minimal direction. This role involves overseeing household management, meal prep, and occasionally assisting with light childcare. Experience in supporting children is preferred, with an ability to step in during childcare gaps or help with daycare pickups, as needed. The right candidate will be proactive, trustworthy, tech savvy, and adaptable to the family’s ever-changing needs. Strong communication and a collaborative attitude are essential to ensuring smooth daily operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Household Management & OrganizationMaintain household organization systems (closets, storage, pantry, and toys) Reset and tidy rooms daily, ensuring the home is prepped for bi-weekly cleaning services Load/unload dishwasher, wipe surfaces, vacuum high traffic areas Conduct seasonal swaps (clothing, décor, bedding, etc.) Supervise or coordinate with service providers/vendors (e.g., handymen, cleaners, landscapers) Maintain and water indoor plants weekly
  • Meal Preparation & Kitchen ManagementPlan and prepare healthy meals and snacks (2-3 dinners and lunches per week) Focus on incorporating vegetables and whole foods into meals Wash, chop, and prepare produce for the week Maintain kitchen cleanliness and ensure the space is tidy after meal prep
  • Inventory ManagementTrack and restock pantry, fridge, toiletries, household supplies Create and manage running household supply lists Occasionally run errands: grocery shopping, returns, dry cleaning Sign for deliveries and bring packages inside as needed
  • Laundry & Linen CareWash, dry, fold, and organize family laundry (e.g., clothing, bedding, towels) Occasional ironing of clothes (once per month) Keep laundry areas tidy and well-stocked with supplies
  • Family Support & Child AssistanceProvide gap coverage for childcare as needed (e.g. light supervision or playtime)) Occasionally assist with daycare pick-ups Help with child-related laundry or errands
  • Vendor & Property OversightSchedule and supervise service providers (cleaners, contractors, landscapers, etc.) Research and coordinate repairs, maintenance, and quotes Serve as primary contact for vendors and service providers
  • Deep Cleaning & Special ProjectsConduct occasional deep cleaning of high-use areas (e.g., fridge, oven, baseboards) Maintain and refresh specific zones (entryways) Clean humidifiers, washing machines, and air purifiers monthly Help with special projects such as organizing seasonal decorations or toy storage
