About Our Family

We are a busy, professional family of five, balancing demanding careers with the joy and chaos of raising three kids. Our children bring plenty of energy and excitement to our home. With both parents in the medical field and varying levels of flexibility in their schedules, our household requires careful coordination to keep everything running smoothly.

Our goal in bringing on a house manager is to create space in our lives to focus on quality family time and the growing interests of our children, while reducing the constant mental load of home management. We are looking for a long-term, trusted presence that can evolve with our family. Longevity and consistency are important to us.

We value structure, cleanliness, and order, but also understand the importance of having flexibility and time for each other. Our ideal candidate would help us maintain that balance: ensuring the home runs smoothly while allowing us to spend more time connecting as a family and focusing on our work.

Who You Are / What We’re Looking For

We are seeking a long-term partner to help manage the many moving parts of our household. You are highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive, with a natural ability to anticipate needs and solve problems independently. You take pride in maintaining a clean and well-organized home, but you also understand the ebb and flow of family life, knowing when to step in and when to give space.

You should be comfortable with children and flexible enough to step in when needed—whether it’s on days when school is closed or when a child is home sick. We are looking for someone who can quickly learn the rhythms of our home, anticipate our needs, and alleviate our mental load by managing tasks before they become overwhelming.

You will work independently but also collaborate with the parents and other household employees, such as our summer nanny. Above all, you value mutual respect and open communication. You are confident in navigating difficult conversations and have the maturity to approach us when challenges arise.

You are someone who thrives in a structured environment, has a strong attention to detail, and takes satisfaction in making sure everything runs smoothly. If you are someone who enjoys working with a family that values trust, efficiency, and long-term relationships, we would love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

Household Management & Organization

  • Create and maintain household organization systems (e.g. closets, storage, pantry, toys) that are easy and predictable for kids and parents to sustain
  • Reset and tidy rooms daily: maintain overall neatness, load/unload dishwasher, wipe surfaces, vacuum high traffic areas, and ensure hope is prepped for bi-weekly cleaning services
  • Conduct seasonal/holiday decor swaps (and clothing if time allows)
  • Prepare and coordinate donation drop offs and pick ups

Inventory Management & Errands

  • Track and manage household inventory (pantry, fridge, toiletries, and all household supplies) and add needed items to shared Skylight Calendar lists
  • Run errands, including making returns and gift shopping, approximately once a month/as needed

Meal Planning & Preparation

  • Shop for groceries and meal-related items to fulfill ingredients needed for provided weekly dinner recipes
  • Prepare ingredients in advance for family dinners (e.g. cleaning and chopping vegetables, thawing/browning meat)
  • Process produce (wash and cut) and restock shelf-stable items for kids’ lunches and snacks
  • Follow dietary needs (youngest child has peanut, pistachio, and cashew allergy) and family preferences for balanced meals and organic fruits/vegetables when available
  • Clean kitchen post-prep and manage kitchen tidiness

Laundry & Linen Care

  • Wash, dry, fold, and organize family laundry in accordance with family’s preference to sort into separate loads for different types of clothing (e.g. work clothes, workout clothes, kids’ clothes, etc.)
  • Stain treat, iron, steam, and prepare outfits as needed
  • Handle special care for delicates such as cashmere, wool, and undergarments
  • Manage linens: wash and rotate bedding weekly, refresh towels as needed, restock essentials
  • Keep laundry areas tidy and well-stocked with supplies

Vendor & Property Oversight

  • Supervise and be an on-site presence for service providers and vendors (e.g., handymen, cleaners, landscapers)
  • Research and coordinate repairs, maintenance, and quotes as needed

Deep Cleaning & Special Projects

  • Regularly deep clean the fridge, removing all items and wiping surfaces
  • Maintain and refresh the open-concept kitchen and entryways, including managing organization of kids’ backpack storage area
  • Organize special projects: sports gear rotation (deep cleaning/disinfecting and storage with changing seasons)

Family, Child, & Administrative Support

  • Check and become familiar with family calendars regularly, maintaining proactive insight into family’s weekly rhythms and navigating any shifts as needed
  • Provide backup childcare as needed
  • Support preparing and packing/unpacking for travel, ensuring all snacks, activities, and other necessities are planned for

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
