About Our Family

We are a warm, active family of four in the Carlsbad/Encinitas area with two school-age children, ages 8 and 11. Between running a business, demanding careers, work travel, school, sports, music, and family adventures, our days are full and our weekends are often spent on the go.

We're fortunate to have family support for after-school activities and a wonderful weekly house cleaner. What we're missing is someone who can take ownership of the everyday household details — errands, groceries, organization, returns, appointments, and those projects that never quite make it off the to-do list.

We're looking for a trusted Household Manager who can bring greater ease, efficiency, and breathing room to our lives. With a home renovation on the horizon and a potential new family dog, we'd love someone who can grow with our family, anticipate what needs attention, and help keep our home running smoothly behind the scenes.

Who You Are / What We're Looking For

You're a proactive, highly organized household professional who naturally sees what needs to be done and takes action. You have an exceptional eye for detail, can walk into a space, quickly assess priorities, and confidently move from observation to execution. You're always thinking one step ahead, identifying opportunities for improvement, and creating thoughtful solutions that bring greater calm and efficiency to the home.

You're tech-savvy, resourceful, and comfortable creating practical systems that simplify household organization and keep projects moving. Whether you're coordinating vendors, tackling an organizational project, managing errands, or restocking groceries, you shift between priorities with ease, sound judgment, and accountability.

With two busy working parents frequently on calls throughout the day, you understand the value of independent ownership and a light footprint. You're conscientious, reliable, and confident making decisions within established preferences, communicating efficiently, and following through without constant oversight.

You take pride in being a trusted extra set of eyes and hands, ensuring groceries are stocked, errands are completed, donations leave the house, and unfinished projects move forward. Your greatest contribution is taking the mental load off the family so they can spend less time managing household logistics and more time enjoying their home, children, and weekends together.

This is 98% a household management role, with occasional flexibility for a school pickup, drop-off, or other family needs. We're seeking someone who genuinely enjoys creating order and is excited to become a trusted, long-term part of our household.

Key qualities we're looking for:

  • Proactive self-starter: Notices what needs attention and takes initiative
  • Exceptional eye for detail: Anticipates needs and suggests thoughtful improvements
  • Independent and accountable: Assesses, prioritizes, and executes with minimal direction
  • Tech-savvy and systems-minded: Creates practical tools and organizational solutions
  • Resourceful and adaptable: Moves confidently between errands, projects, and household priorities
  • Calm and conscientious: Brings consistency, care, and efficiency to a busy home
  • High emotional intelligence: Reads the room, respects privacy, and maintains a light footprint
  • Reliable and trustworthy: Communicates clearly and follows through
  • Solutions-oriented: Brings ideas and takes ownership of outcomes
  • Warm and flexible: Comfortable around children and providing occasional back-up support
  • Long-term mindset: Values building trust and growing with the family

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
