Job Description

SAIC is seeking a Senior Radar Engineer to join the STARS FBM Planner Software Development Team providing MDS Sensor modeling to support warfighter training and exercises.

This position will sit at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform radar systems analysis, deep dive customer noted issues through root cause identification and resolution, simplify tactical radar algorithms to representative effects that can function in real-time, and document results for technical briefings to end-users and project leadership.
  • Developing analysis tools through MATLAB / Python and helping to guide more junior team members to ensure a consistent framework/interoperability of developed analysis tools.
  • Working daily on-site at a government customer facility on a multi-contractor team and interacting regularly with industry partners and the government customer.

Qualifications

Required Education:

  • Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; four (4) years of experience considered in lieu of degree.

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency in Radar Systems, Analysis, and Design
  • Experience with reverse engineering
  • Software Tool Development experience
  • Ability to operate Hardware-in-the-Loop for Verification and Validation of Radar Models
  • Proficiency in OOP, preferably, JAVA
  • Ability to understand ADA Code
  • Experience with Git
  • Ability to maintain and review code
  • Strong written communication skills for the drafting of organizational proposal and instructional documents
  • Proficiency in AGILE development

Required Clearance:

  • Active Secret Security Clearance.
