CDL-A Local Intermodal Driver – $10,000 Bonus + Home Daily | Chambersburg, PA

Join a dedicated local intermodal operation with home-daily routes, a consistent Sunday-Thursday schedule, and an average annual income of $86,400. Drivers serve local customers and rail facilities throughout the Chambersburg, Harrisburg, and Baltimore areas.

Main Yard / Starting Location

900 Kriner Drive, Suite 3, Chambersburg, PA 17202 — drivers start and return to the Chambersburg terminal, and trucks remain at the terminal during time off.

Pay Details

$86,400 Average Annual Pay

  • Average Weekly Pay: $1,700
  • $10,000 bonus
  • $200/day during ramp training after onboarding
  • Holiday pay available after 90 days
  • Medical coverage available after 30 days
  • 18 paid days off initially: 12 PTO + 6 holidays
  • PTO increases with tenure

Job Details

  • Dedicated local intermodal operation
  • 2-5 loads per day, depending on haul length
  • Priority loading/unloading at CSX railyards
  • Four rail facilities: Chambersburg, two in Harrisburg, and Baltimore
  • Local customers and rail facilities
  • No NYC
  • Slip-seat operation
  • Manual and automatic trucks available
  • Average truck age approximately 2 years

Shift Details

  • Sunday-Thursday
  • 1:00 PM start
  • Approximately 10-11 hour days
  • Home daily
  • Ramp operates 24/7, depending on holidays
  • Non-smoking position
  • Thanksgiving may be worked
  • Christmas off
  • New Year's may be worked

Job Requirements

  • Valid Class A CDL
  • Minimum 3 months of truck driving experience
  • Clean driving record
  • Valid DOT Medical Card
  • No SAP drivers
  • HAZMAT endorsement required within 90 days of hire
  • HAZMAT Threat Assessment and fingerprinting reimbursement up to $60
  • Receipts required for reimbursement
  • Final reimbursement provided after the endorsement is added to the physical CDL

Equipment & Training

  • Manual and automatic trucks
  • Slip-seat operation
  • Trucks remain at the Chambersburg terminal during time off
  • Ramp training begins the day after onboarding
  • Minimum 3 days with a trainer
  • 4 total days of on-site orientation
  • $200/day during ramp training after onboarding

PTO & Holiday Pay

  • 1-5 years: 22 paid days off
  • 6-13 years: 27 paid days off
  • 14-18 years: 30 paid days off
  • 19+ years: 32 paid days off
  • Holiday pay available after 90 days
