As the Plating Manager, you will lead the vehicle registration and titling function, ensuring all documentation is processed accurately and in compliance with state regulations. This role manages the plating team and oversees daily operations to support high-volume throughput and timely plate distribution. Plating Manager Responsibilities Include:
Supervise and develop a team of Plating Coordinators and administrative staff. Provide training on DMV regulations, documentation procedures, and internal systems. Monitor team productivity, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory deadlines. Ensure staffing coverage and adjust priorities based on operational needs. Oversee the processing of titles, registrations, license plates, and related documentation. Liaise with state agencies, clients, and vendors to resolve application issues or discrepancies. Maintain accurate, organized filing systems for audit-readiness. Collaborate with internal departments to meet vehicle processing timelines. Stay current on state DMV rules and ensure department-wide compliance. Conduct regular audits and implement process improvements. Minimize delays and penalties by ensuring timely document submission. Generate plating reports for leadership on volume, errors, and turnaround times. Communicate operational updates and issues to management. Leadership Responsibilities Include:

Manage department revenue and costs within assigned budget; provide thoughtful recommendations and best practice solutions. Identify any gaps in processes and update procedures as required by system and/or process improvements. Execute the interview/hiring process of all direct reports and support the process of indirect reports. Complete goal setting, development plans, and annual reviews for reporting staff on a timely basis. Coach and train team members to understand duties, responsibilities, and performance with established expectations. Ensure adherence to operating procedures, legal and compliance regulations, and IT Policies to minimize risk. Promote a team member-driven culture, including a focus on safety. Create and maintain open communication with team members, peers, management, and other departments.
Plating Manager Qualifications and Skills:
Ability to read, write, and speak English.
Must meet company background check and drug screen requirements. Consistent work history and attendance record. Reliable transportation. Minimum 3 years of experience in titling, registration, or dealership administration. Deep knowledge of DMV processes and requirements. Strong leadership and people management skills. High attention to detail and organizational abilities. Proficient in Microsoft Office and title processing platforms.
