Job Title: Senior Business Analyst, Corporate Services

Company: International Mining Equipment Provider

Location: Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia

We are seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Senior Business Analyst, Corporate Services based in the UB at the Accounting department. Under the general supervision of the Manager, Control & Process, the Senior Business Analyst, Corporate Services will play a critical role in managing and optimizing our financial and business systems, controls, processes and supporting the company's financial operations. This position involves working closely with accounting, finance, purchasing, IT, and other departments to ensure that our financial systems are running efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Canada team to develop a revolving list of topics for business improvement.
  • Oversee the administration, maintenance, and support of financial systems, ensuring their reliability, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities for system enhancements and work with IT and finance teams to implement improvements that streamline processes and increase efficiency.
  • Collaborate with IT and other departments to integrate financial systems with other business systems, ensuring seamless data flow and accurate reporting.
  • Lead and participate in financial system implementation and upgrade projects, ensuring that all project milestones are met and that systems are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Analyze financial data to ensure accuracy and consistency across all financial systems. Identify discrepancies and work to resolve them promptly.
  • Provide support to finance teams and other system users by troubleshooting issues, providing training, and offering guidance on best practices.
  • Propose practical, value-added recommendations to address weaknesses or process inefficiencies, and work with process owners to implement changes.
  • Propose and implement new tools and methodologies that can enhance financial system performance.
  • Build strong relationships with Business Owners to support the implementation of business process improvements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Information Technology or a related field. A master's degree or relevant certification (e.g., CPA, CFA, CISA) is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial systems analysis, business processes and controls and with a strong understanding of financial processes and systems.
  • Skill in Power Bl with advanced abilities in data modeling, report creation, and dashboard development, along with strong data analysis skills, experience integrating data from sources Excel and SQL databases, and proficiency in SQL for reporting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with complex datasets and identify trends and anomalies.
  • Experience in project management, with a proven track record of successfully leading financial system implementation and upgrading projects.
  • Proven ability to assess and enhance internal controls and manage risk effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of data integration, financial reporting, and compliance standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
