The posting

CharteredPartners is seeking an experienced international and cross-border tax professional to join our client in Singapore at Partner level. The successful candidate will lead international tax advisory delivery, own client origination and practice development, and act as the firm's senior technical authority on inbound and outbound structuring, treaty access and the BEPS 2.0 environment. Specific qualifications, regulatory fluency and technical breadth are detailed in the sections that follow.

Confidential Client. Applying to this position means that you are interested to have an initial confidential discussion about how we can help you to identify and join a new accounting-firm practice. With your authorisation we will exclusively run the entire application and recruitment process for you, keeping you apprised at every step. With over 30 years' combined experience of helping the most talented accounting, audit, tax and advisory professionals to make safe, well-judged moves into rewarding new roles, we have the experience, network and ability to help you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead international tax advisory engagements, including inbound and outbound structuring, holding-company location analysis and supply-chain reorganisations for multinational groups operating through Singapore.
  • Advise on Pillar Two readiness under Singapore's Multinational Enterprise Top-up Tax and Domestic Top-up Tax regimes, effective from 2025, and assess GloBE compliance and provisioning implications for in-scope groups.
  • Originate new client relationships and convert referrals into mandates, building a sustainable book of international tax work across the practice.
  • Interpret and apply Singapore's double-tax agreement network, treaty-relief positions and withholding-tax obligations administered by IRAS.
  • Oversee tax incentive applications and negotiations, including Pioneer and Development & Expansion Incentive (DEI) schemes, in conjunction with the Economic Development Board.
  • Provide partner-level technical review and sign-off on complex advisory deliverables, opinions and ruling requests.
  • Mentor directors, managers and associates, and contribute to the technical training and thought-leadership programme of the firm.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Chartered Accountant of Singapore (ISCA) or equivalent recognised qualification.
  • Accredited Tax Advisor (Income Tax) with the Singapore Chartered Tax Professionals (SCTP), or clear eligibility to attain accreditation.
  • At least twelve years of corporate and international tax experience, with substantial time gained in a professional services firm.
  • Deep working knowledge of the Singapore Income Tax Act, the 17% corporate tax rate and the headline incentive landscape.
  • Demonstrable command of cross-border structuring, treaty interpretation and permanent-establishment analysis.
  • Practical experience of Pillar Two modelling and the GloBE rules as adopted in Singapore.
  • A proven record of client origination and the ability to develop and retain a fee base.
  • Strong written advisory skills, with the ability to produce defensible technical opinions.
  • Excellent stakeholder-management skills across boards, in-house tax functions and the tax authority.
  • Right to work in Singapore, or eligibility to obtain the relevant work pass.

Preferred Experience:

  • Prior partner, director or principal experience within a Big Four or recognised mid-tier practice.
  • Exposure to regional structuring across ASEAN and the wider Asia-Pacific.
  • Experience advising fund managers, family offices or asset-holding structures domiciled in Singapore.
  • Familiarity with transfer-pricing principles as they intersect with international structuring.
  • A visible market profile, including published articles, speaking engagements or committee involvement.
  • An established referral network among legal, banking and corporate-services intermediaries.

Compensation:

Competitive package commensurate with seniority and experience, including base, performance-based bonus, long-term incentives and (where applicable) partner-track participation.

Next Steps:

This opportunity is open to candidates who hold or can obtain the right to work in Singapore and who match the above criteria. Please apply to receive prompt contact from an experienced and specialist accounting-firm recruitment consultant.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
