Job Description

The Planner II – Master Scheduling supports multiple shipbuilding programs by developing and maintaining integrated, resource-loaded master schedules across key project phases, including Engineering & Design, Procurement, Build, and Test & Trials. Working closely with engineering, supply chain, production, and program controls teams, the role ensures schedule quality and compliance, supports resource planning and performance tracking, identifies risks and schedule integration issues, and provides advanced planning support to enable successful program execution.

Note: Due to business needs, this position is required to be fully on-site based at 50 Pemberton Avenue, North Vancouver.

What you’ll do

  • Utilize Primavera P6 to independently develop and maintain Level 2, 3, and 4 schedules across multiple projects and interfaces, supporting integrated planning, forecasting, and management reporting.
  • Develop and maintain detailed Level 3 and Level 4 schedules for Engineering, Procurement, and Build phases, managing more complex logic, assumptions, and interdependencies.
  • Maintain schedule logic, integrity, and data quality to support performance measurement, forecasting, and schedule analysis.
  • Identify schedule logic issues, integration gaps, and emerging risks, and work with cross‑functional teams to support issue resolution and schedule alignment.
  • Develop and maintain integrated resource profiles in Primavera P6 to support capacity assessment and planning across programs.
  • Support and maintain effective schedule data interfaces between Primavera P6 and MRP/ERP systems, ensuring consistency and analytical readiness.
  • Prepare and distribute advanced schedule analyses, reports, and forecasts, including cross‑project views.
  • Provide planning and scheduling inputs to support decision‑making by the Planning Lead, Team Supervisor, and broader program stakeholders.
  • Maintain assigned portions of the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) to support EVMS, resource planning, and automated metrics.

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 4+ years of planning and scheduling experience in a large manufacturing environment, preferably shipbuilding.
  • Certification in Planning, Production Control, or Project Management is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of shipbuilding operations and cross‑functional interdependencies.
  • Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6, including complex logic development and schedule integration.
  • Solid working knowledge of EVMS and scheduled driven performance monitoring.
  • Experience working with MRP/ERP systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex schedule data and communicate insights.
  • High level of collaboration and stakeholder engagement capability.
  • Ability to work with moderate autonomy as a trusted contributor within the IMS Planning organization.

Why you’ll love working here

  • This is a full-time, permanent position. With multiple operations and long-term projects, Seaspan employees enjoy job stability as we look ahead to build ships for decades to come.
  • In addition to an annual bonus and pension plan matching, this role provides you a very competitive salary in line with the successful candidate’s experience.

  • Free on-site gym.
  • Parking is included.

The estimated salary for this position is $84,600-$103,400. In determining final salary, Seaspan considers many factors including the successful Candidate’s skillset and experience as well as position location and internal equity. Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
