Job Description

Mall Security Officer

Location: Edison, NJ

Pay Rate: $19.10 an hour

Shift hours:

Friday and Saturday: 6:00pm to 2:00 am

Position Summary As a Mall Security Officer, you will help maintain a safe and secure environment for customers, tenants, employees, and visitors. Officers conduct patrols, monitor security systems, respond to incidents, and provide exceptional customer service while protecting people and property.

Essential Functions

  • Patrol interior and exterior areas of the shopping center on foot or by vehicle.
  • Monitor CCTV cameras, alarm systems, and other security equipment.
  • Respond to emergencies, disturbances, accidents, and security concerns.
  • Observe and report suspicious activity, safety hazards, and policy violations.
  • Enforce client site rules and regulations.
  • Assist customers, tenants, and visitors with directions and general information.
  • Complete incident reports and maintain accurate activity logs.
  • Coordinate with law enforcement, emergency responders, and mall management when required.
  • Conduct opening and closing security procedures for the property.

Working Conditions

  • Indoor and outdoor work environment.
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to respond quickly to emergencies and security incidents.

Requirements:

  • Valid SORA license or willing to obtain
  • Valid Driver’s License with a clean MVR
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Must be reliable, self-motivated, and flexible
