Our paralegals are valued members of the litigation team, with meaningful responsibilities and opportunities to take ownership of assignments. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable managing competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, providing a flexible mix of in-office and remote work.

What You’ll Do

As a General Liability Defense Paralegal, you will provide comprehensive litigation support to attorneys handling general liability defense matters throughout the life cycle of a case.

Litigation & Case Management

  • Coordinate all aspects of discovery, including document collection, review, organization, production, and tracking of outstanding discovery requests.
  • Review and organize medical records, incident reports, photographs, contracts, employment records, and other case-related documents.
  • Assist attorneys with factual investigations, case evaluations, and preparation for depositions, hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations.
  • Prepare deposition summaries and chronologies, and organize key case facts and evidence.
  • Draft and issue subpoenas for records and depositions, monitor responses, and coordinate with third-party record providers.
  • Coordinate with clients, insurance carriers, opposing counsel, court personnel, expert witnesses, medical providers, and outside vendors.
  • Assist with identifying, retaining, and coordinating expert witnesses and organizing expert-related materials.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive electronic and physical case files, document indexes, and litigation databases.
  • Manage calendars and docketing systems to track court deadlines, discovery schedules, depositions, and other critical dates.
  • Support e-discovery processes and maintain organized electronic records using document management and litigation support platforms.
  • Assist with settlement preparation, including organizing supporting documentation and maintaining settlement-related records.
  • Track billable time and maintain accurate time entries in accordance with firm procedures.
  • Perform legal research and other substantive litigation support tasks as requested by attorneys.

Trial Preparation & Litigation Support

  • Assist attorneys with preparing cases for trial, hearings, depositions, and other litigation proceedings.
  • Organize exhibits, deposition transcripts, medical records, demonstrative materials, and other evidence.
  • Prepare and maintain trial notebooks, exhibit lists, witness files, and other case materials.
  • Coordinate the collection and organization of documents and information needed for trial preparation.
  • Support attorneys with pretrial submissions, witness preparation materials, and trial-related logistics.
  • Manage time-sensitive assignments and help ensure that case materials are complete, accurate, and readily accessible.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and other litigation team members to keep matters organized and moving forward efficiently.

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking a dependable and resourceful paralegal who has a strong foundation in litigation support, understands the demands of a defense practice, and takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality work.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a paralegal in a litigation environment.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases and competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, sound judgment, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
