The posting

Job brief

Company Overview: Our client is a globally recognized leader and premier manufacturer of solar mounting and racking solutions, known for driving clean energy infrastructure across utility-scale and large commercial and industrial sectors.

The Opportunity: As they continue to expand their European footprint, our client is seeking a commercial-minded Technical Sales Engineer (m/f/d) based in Germany. The Role: In this pivotal role, the successful candidate will act as the technical backbone of our client's European business development team. Working hand-in-hand with the regional BD Manager, you will lead the technical consulting phase, translate complex client requirements into optimized structural solutions, and directly accelerate order conversions for high-profile projects across Europe.

Responsibilities

  • Technical Consultation and Pre-Sales Support: Partner closely with the BD Manager to provide top-tier technical consultations, product presentations, and solutions to EPCs, IPPs, and project developers across Europe.
  • Solution Design Coordination: Assess project-specific conditions (geotechnical, wind/snow loads, roof types), prepare initial standard structural proposals, and coordinate with the global engineering team for complex customized designs.
  • Bridge between Europe and HQ: Act as the critical interface between European clients and internal R&D/technical teams, ensuring seamless communication of local compliance requirements, engineering standards, and technical feedback.
  • Commercial Project Evaluation: Evaluate the technical feasibility and commercial viability of inbound project leads, judging the priority of client demands to help the team prioritize resource allocation.
  • On-site Coordination and Support: Provide localized technical coordination during project execution, assisting with site questions, troubleshooting, and cross-departmental collaboration to ensure high-quality delivery.
  • Market Intelligence: Maintain deep insight into European market trends, competitor movements, and local regulatory updates (e.g., Eurocodes), submitting structured weekly project and market reports.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or above in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil/Structural Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: Minimum 3+ years of experience in technical sales, pre-sales engineering, or technical project management within the European solar (PV), energy storage (ESS), or renewable energy sector. Experience with solar mounting structures is a strong plus.
  • Market and Customer Knowledge: Solid understanding of the European PV project lifecycle and familiarity with regional EPC, IPP, and developer networks.
  • Language Skills: Native or business-fluent German (essential for technical client interaction) and fluent English (for international corporate communication).
  • Technical and Soft Skills: Strong structural/technical comprehension (ability to interpret layouts, CAD drawings, and basic statics concepts); exceptional cross-cultural communication, negotiation, and resource-coordination skills.
  • Work Style: Self-motivated with a high degree of result-orientation; comfortable with a remote/home-office setup and international cross-border collaboration.
  • Travel Flexibility: Willingness and ability to travel frequently across the European region for client visits, project site assessments, and industry events.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
