Job Description
The Clinical Dietician implements a clinical nutrition program to provide high-quality nutritional care for patients, and to meet staff education needs. Assess patient needs, develop and implement nutrition plans/programs and evaluate results. Shriners Portland is looking for a PRN Clinical Dietician to join the team!
Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates knowledge and ability to screen pediatric patients for nutrition status and potential nutritional related issues
- Accurately calculates protein, calorie, and fluid requirements to meet age-specific needs of patients
- Provides services and establishes goals based on the identified needs of patients and/or family members
- Uses education strategies appropriate to patients’ needs and site of care. Demonstrates knowledge and ability to identify appropriate opportunities and settings for learning activities, to recommend and implement nutrition education/counseling for patients and families
- Demonstrates knowledge of departmental and hospital-wide performance improvement programs to identify areas of improvement for nutrition care. As applicable, actively participates in interdepartmental teams to meet individual meeting outcomes and overall team goal
- Develops and implements a plan for professional growth as part of the annual performance appraisal process
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor, Dietetics or Food and Nutrition Science
- Dietitian license in state of practice
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2 years Pediatric Clinical Nutrition
- 1 year Hospital
- 1 year Orthopaedics

Compensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
