ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a highly organised, commercially aware, and proactive Business Operations & Partnerships Coordinator to support the day-to-day operations, client relationships, partnerships, and business development activities of a growing financial services organisation.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Founder to ensure that client engagements, meetings, partnerships, business opportunities, and operational follow-ups are effectively coordinated and progressed.

This is primarily a business coordination, relationship management, and operational support role, rather than a conventional sales position. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining strong relationships with clients and partners, ensuring timely follow-up on commitments, coordinating meetings and business activities, and providing reliable local support to the Founder.

The role requires a highly dependable individual who can work independently, manage multiple priorities, communicate confidently with senior stakeholders, and ensure that important business activities continue to move forward, particularly when the Founder is travelling.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Client & Partner Coordination

  • Coordinate meetings with clients, business partners, prospective customers, financial institutions, and other key stakeholders.
  • Maintain regular and professional communication with existing clients and strategic partners.
  • Attend client and partner meetings and represent the organisation professionally when required.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, partners, and other external stakeholders.
  • Visit client and partner offices when required.
  • Ensure client and partner engagements progress smoothly from initial discussions through to agreed actions and outcomes.
  • Serve as a reliable point of contact for clients and partners on assigned matters.

2. Business Operations & Follow-Up

  • Maintain clear and accurate records of meetings, discussions, commitments, decisions, and agreed next steps.
  • Track outstanding actions and ensure timely follow-up with relevant parties.
  • Monitor ongoing business activities and identify pending actions, delays, or operational gaps.
  • Proactively escalate critical issues to the Founder or relevant internal stakeholders.
  • Take ownership of operational follow-ups and ensure agreed actions are completed.
  • Ensure important tasks, commitments, and client requirements are consistently followed through to completion.
  • Support the Founder in maintaining visibility over ongoing business activities and priorities.

3. Proposals, Presentations & Client Requirements

  • Coordinate the preparation and delivery of proposals, presentations, business documents, and other client-facing materials.
  • Gather relevant information from internal teams and external partners to meet client requirements.
  • Coordinate timelines and deliverables associated with client and partnership opportunities.
  • Follow up on proposals, meetings, business discussions, and outstanding client requirements.
  • Ensure that client requests are communicated accurately to the appropriate internal teams and followed through to resolution.

4. CRM, Records & Pipeline Management

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date CRM records and client information.
  • Keep the business development and partnership pipeline properly updated.
  • Record client interactions, meeting outcomes, follow-up actions, and opportunity status.
  • Maintain organised records of clients, partners, prospects, meetings, and business opportunities.
  • Prepare regular updates on outstanding activities, opportunities, and follow-up requirements.
  • Ensure relevant information is readily available to the Founder and management for decision-making.

5. Internal & External Stakeholder Coordination

  • Act as a coordination point between the Founder, clients, partners, service providers, and internal teams.
  • Ensure information, requirements, and instructions are communicated accurately and promptly.
  • Coordinate activities across multiple stakeholders to ensure timely execution.
  • Follow up with relevant teams and stakeholders on outstanding deliverables.
  • Support internal teams in understanding client expectations, deadlines, and business requirements.
  • Maintain effective communication between all parties involved in ongoing business engagements.

6. Founder Support

  • Support the Founder in preparing for important client, partner, and business meetings.
  • Prepare meeting briefs, background information, follow-up points, and action trackers where required.
  • Coordinate post-meeting follow-ups and ensure agreed actions are progressed.
  • Serve as a reliable local point of contact when the Founder is travelling.
  • Maintain continuity of key client, partner, and business relationships during the Founder's absence.
  • Provide regular updates to the Founder regarding important meetings, pending actions, client requests, and business opportunities.
  • Assist with coordinating the Founder's calendar, meetings, and business engagements where required.

7. Business Development & Partnership Support

  • Support business development and relationship-building activities.
  • Assist in identifying potential clients, strategic partners, and new business opportunities.
  • Conduct basic market and business research where required.
  • Support partnership discussions and maintain timely follow-up with prospective partners.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining strategic relationships within the financial services and business community.
  • Support initiatives aimed at expanding the organisation's client base and business network.
  • Contribute to business growth through effective relationship management and opportunity coordination.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Economics, Finance, Marketing, Communications, or a related discipline.
  • 2–4 years of relevant professional experience in business operations, business development, account management, partnerships, relationship management, project coordination, consulting, financial services, insurance, microfinance banking, fintech, or a related environment.

  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
