Job Description

Sinch is pioneering the way the world communicates. More than 150,000 businesses — including Google, Uber, PayPal, Visa, Tinder, and many others — rely on Sinch’s Customer Communications Cloud to power engaging customer experiences through mobile messaging, voice, and email.

Whether you need to verify users or craft omnichannel campaigns, Sinch makes it easy. Our AI-infused Super Network, APIs, and applications ensure you can connect with your customers reliably and securely, at every step of their journey.

At Sinch we “Dream Big”, “Win Together”, “Keep it simple”, and “Make it Happen”. These values are our foundation!

The Role

Our Activate team is an exciting new team at Sinch that owns the overall customer experience on the Sinch Build Dashboard. We are a small, fast-moving team pioneering experiments and A/B testing at Sinch. We ship to production often and immerse ourselves in tracking data to understand our customers.

As a Backend Software Engineer III, you will build the services and data behind the Build Dashboard and the experiments we run on it. This is an early-team opportunity: you will help shape how the team works and have real ownership of what you ship. We value pragmatic engineers who move fast, care about the customer impact, and use AI tools to work smarter. You will work closely with frontend engineers, Product, and cross-functional teams. This is a hybrid role, working from our Stockholm office.

What You Will Do

  • Build and evolve backend services and APIs in Java that power the Sinch Build Dashboard.
  • Design and work with databases, keeping data models clean, reliable, and fast.
  • Support experiments and A/B tests, and use tracking data to understand how customers use the product.
  • Own and improve CI/CD pipelines so the team can ship to production often and safely.
  • Work closely with frontend engineers, understanding how the UI uses your APIs.
  • Use AI coding tools in your daily work to build, test, and ship faster.
  • Follow a build-ship-run approach.

What We Are Looking For

  • 3–4+ years of backend development experience.
  • Solid experience with Java.
  • Solid knowledge of databases.
  • Experience with CI/CD.
  • Understanding of frontend development and the ability to work with frontend engineers (you don’t need to have built it yourself).
  • AI-literate: you use AI coding tools such as Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, or similar, and understand their benefits, risks, and best practices.
  • A pragmatic, product-minded approach and enjoyment of shipping often.
  • Clear communication in English, written and spoken.
  • Willingness to work hybrid from our Stockholm office.

Nice to have

  • Experience with experimentation, A/B testing, or feature flags.
  • Experience working with product analytics or tracking data.
  • Experience in a small or early-stage team.

OUR HIRING PROCESS

We are committed to ensuring a recruitment process that is fair, objective, consistent, and inclusive. Our approach includes structured, competency-based interviews designed to evaluate your skills, experience, and qualifications relevant to the role. At times, we may include a data-driven assessment to enhance our hiring success and identify candidates likely to excel.

We believe in a two-way process and encourage you to ask questions throughout the journey. If this role isn’t what you’re looking for, please explore the other opportunities listed on our career page: https://www.sinch.com/careers/. No matter who you are, we hope you find an exciting path forward - hopefully with us!

The salary range for this role is SEK 50,500 – 75,500 per month, depending on skills and experience.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
