The posting

Job Description

Sinch is pioneering the way the world communicates. More than 150,000 businesses — including Google, Uber, PayPal, Visa, Tinder, and many others — rely on Sinch’s Customer Communications Cloud to power engaging customer experiences through mobile messaging, voice, and email.

Whether you need to verify users or craft omnichannel campaigns, Sinch makes it easy. Our AI-infused Super Network, APIs, and applications ensure you can connect with your customers reliably and securely, at every step of their journey.

At Sinch we “Dream Big”, “Win Together”, “Keep it simple”, and “Make it Happen”. These values are our foundation!

The Role

Our Onboarding team owns how new customers sign up to Sinch and get verified (KYC). It is the very first experience every customer has with us, so it needs to be fast, simple, and secure.

As a Backend Software Engineer III, you will build and run the services behind these sign-up and verification flows. You will join a small Stockholm-based team alongside a Senior full-stack Tech Lead and a full-stack engineer, as we grow a permanent team that takes full ownership of the product. You will work closely with the Tech Lead, Product, and cross-functional teams. This is a hybrid role, working from our Stockholm office.

What You Will Do

  • Build and maintain backend services and REST APIs in Node.js and TypeScript.
  • Design and work with SQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar).
  • Develop and deploy microservices on Kubernetes, using Docker and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Contribute to the distributed systems that power customer sign-up and verification.
  • Write clean, tested, maintainable code using sound design patterns.
  • Take part in code reviews and pull requests, and help raise code quality across the team.
  • Own the features you build from design through to production.
  • Follow a build-ship-run approach.

What We Are Looking For

  • 3–4+ years of backend development experience.
  • Experience with Node.js (TypeScript is a plus).
  • Experience building REST APIs.
  • Good knowledge of SQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar).
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes.
  • Experience working with distributed systems and microservices.
  • Experience with Docker and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Comfortable with Git, code reviews, and pull requests.
  • Good understanding of clean code and basic design patterns.
  • Ability to work independently on most tasks.
  • Clear communication in English, written and spoken.
  • Willingness to work hybrid from our Stockholm office.

Nice to have

  • Working experience with Java (Spring or Spring Boot).
  • Event-driven development experience with RabbitMQ or Kafka.
  • Experience with a cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

OUR HIRING PROCESS

We are committed to ensuring a recruitment process that is fair, objective, consistent, and inclusive. Our approach includes structured, competency-based interviews designed to evaluate your skills, experience, and qualifications relevant to the role. At times, we may include a data-driven assessment to enhance our hiring success and identify candidates likely to excel.

We believe in a two-way process and encourage you to ask questions throughout the journey. If this role isn’t what you’re looking for, please explore the other opportunities listed on our career page: https://www.sinch.com/careers/. No matter who you are, we hope you find an exciting path forward - hopefully with us!

The salary range for this role is SEK 50,500 – 75,500 per month depending on experience.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.

Do you really apply for me?

Yes, on the employer's own form, the hardest ones included. Where a question needs you, you answer it right there and AI suggests the best answer. Don't want us applying from our IP addresses? Use our Chrome extension: we apply straight from your own browser.

Is it a subscription?

No. You pay once per CV, from $25. Every application goes out with its own CV, written for that posting.
