EMPLOYMENT TYPE: FULL-TIME PERMANENT

ANNUAL SALARY: $80K TO $100K

Trav's Painting Solutions Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled and experienced Painter to join our team on a full-time basis. The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing, painting and finishing various surfaces to a professional standard while ensuring quality workmanship, safety and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake residential and commercial painting projects in accordance with job specifications and client requirements.
  • Prepare surfaces and apply paints, varnishes and other protective or decorative finishes.
  • Ensure all painting work meets quality, safety and industry standards.
  • Interpret plans, specifications and colour schedules to determine painting requirements.
  • Select appropriate materials, equipment and application methods for each project.
  • Maintain painting tools, equipment and work areas in safe working conditions.
  • Work independently and collaboratively to complete projects within agreed timeframes.

Tasks

  • Examine and prepare surfaces by removing old paint, cleaning, sanding, scraping and filling cracks or holes.
  • Apply primers, sealers and undercoats to prepare surfaces for final finishes.
  • Mix and match paints to achieve specified colours, shades and finishes.
  • Apply paint, varnish, stains and other coatings using brushes, rollers and spray equipment.
  • Apply decorative finishes, textures and protective coatings where required.
  • Erect and use ladders, scaffolding and other access equipment safely.
  • Protect surrounding surfaces and fixtures using masking materials and protective coverings.
  • Repair minor surface imperfections and ensure smooth, consistent finishes.
  • Clean and maintain brushes, rollers, spray equipment and other painting tools.
  • Inspect completed work and undertake touch-ups to achieve the required finish.

Qualifications

  • AQF Certificate III in Painting and Decorating or an equivalent relevant trade qualification is preferred.
  • Applicants without formal qualifications may be considered where they demonstrate substantial relevant painting experience.
  • Construction White Card or willingness to obtain one before commencing site work.
  • Current driver's licence is desirable.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of painting techniques, surface preparation and finishing methods.
  • Proficiency in using brushes, rollers, spray equipment and associated painting tools.
  • Ability to mix and match colours and select suitable paints and coatings.
  • Ability to interpret plans, specifications and job instructions.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Sound understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively and meet project deadlines.
  • Good communication, problem-solving and teamwork skills.

Experience

  • Previous practical experience as a Painter or Painting Trades Worker is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing and painting internal and external surfaces.
  • Experience applying paints, stains, varnishes and protective coatings.
  • Experience working on residential and/or commercial painting projects.
  • Ability to operate painting tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Experience completing painting projects to professional standards with minimal supervision

ANNUAL SALARY: $80K TO $100K
