The Role:

This locum tenens opportunity allows you to provide high-quality oncology care to Veterans with a flexible schedule and potential for a long-term assignment. You will share coverage responsibilities including outpatient clinic work, inpatient consultations, and on-call services, making it ideal for those seeking part-time clinical work or supplemental income.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive medical oncology evaluations, consultations, and treatment
  • Manage patients in both outpatient and inpatient settings
  • Evaluate referrals and develop individualized treatment plans
  • Coordinate care with primary care physicians and multidisciplinary teams
  • Provide oncology consultation and on-call services as scheduled
  • Maintain appropriate clinical documentation and participate in quality-of-care activities

Schedule and Shift Details: Part-Time / Flexible Coverage with clinic coverage Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM for 3 days (24 - 40 hours) per week, plus on-call coverage 17 weeks annually covering evenings, nights, and weekends outside regular business hours. (Alternative options might be available)

Qualifications:

  • Doctorate degree
  • Valid Board Certified certification/license
  • ANY of the following valid licenses/certifications: American Red Cross Basic Life Support (ARC BLS) American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS)
  • ANY of the following valid licenses/certifications: American Red Cross Advanced Life Support (ARC ALS) American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (AHA ACLS) Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS)
