Job description

Slyp is Australia's first independent scale-up backed by Australia’s major banks. Our multi award-winning tech platform has transformed the buying experience by seamlessly embedding loyalty, rewards, and digital receipts into the payment process. We believe loyalty is broken due to fragmentation and friction, that’s why we’re redefining the future of loyalty. While we are rapidly evolving our products set, our platform is already used by some of the largest retailers in the market – from Kmart, Country Road, Spar, Chemist Warehouse to JD Sports and hundreds more.

Why is Slyp a great place to work? Founded by former PayPal executives, Slyp has drawn top talent from around the globe. You'll join a collaborative, employee-focused team that values craft, continuous improvement and innovation, backed by an organisation investing heavily in technology, AI, and experience design. It's a high-impact role in a fast-growing company with real-world reach—and you'll get real autonomy, ownership, and direct access to leadership.

What your day to day will look like at Slyp

As a Senior Product Designer at Slyp, you'll shape design across our entire business – from our consumer app, to our merchant platform and marketing. Working closely with Engineering, Marketing, customers, and clients, you’ll help ensure every touchpoint is on-brand, easy to use, and impactful – whether that's a new product feature, a marketing campaign, or a client pitch deck. This is a hands-on, high-impact role for a designer who enjoys variety, ownership, and solving meaningful problems through thoughtful design.

What you'll get to work on

  • Own end-to-end design for our mobile app and B2B platform—from concept to launch and iteration
  • Maintain & evolve our atomic design system to ensure consistency, scalability, and flexibility
  • Use AI tools to accelerate workflows and sharpen user experiences
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that balance beauty with usability
  • Conduct user research and testing to drive data-informed design decisions
  • Champion usability and accessibility across every touchpoint
  • Support Sales & Marketing with visuals, brand assets, and partner-facing materials
  • Work alongside our Founders to turn early ideas into POCs for quick validation
  • Work closely with developers to ensure seamless design handoffs and usability testing

You’re someone who has:

  • 5+ years of design experience across web and mobile
  • Deep expertise in Figma and its best practices – auto layout, variables, components in every design
  • Confidence in leading the end-to-end double diamond process
  • An AI-forward mindset, with an interest in using emerging tools and prototyping methods to accelerate exploration, learning and collaboration with engineers.
  • Created or evolved a design system, knowing when to extend it with new components
  • Expertise across the entire design spectrum – from UX, UI, prototyping, visual design, to brand (motion is a bonus!)
  • A strong pulse on user needs and a deep understanding of continuous discovery and customer research practices, with experience using early and frequent customer learning to guide decisions.
  • Strong facilitation, storytelling and influencing skills, including the ability to contribute strongly to design critiques, align stakeholders and improve team ways of working.

Nice-to-have’s (but not a must!)

  • Startup experience – you thrive on wearing multiple hats and switching gears fast
  • Hands-on experience with AI design tools like (eg. Claude Design, Claude Code)
  • Experience with data-driven products or dashboards
  • Familiarity with B2B2C platforms
  • Background in loyalty, retail, or e-commerce

Job benefits

  • Competitive salary & leave — Competitive pay for our incredible team, plus parental leave to support new parents
  • Employee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP) — Nobody's a renter here. Every Slypster owns a piece of the company and shares in our success
  • Quarterly socials — We take a break, celebrate wins, and have some fun together—Padel, bowling, and volleyball, to name a few!
  • Tools — MacBook Pro, monitor, and accessories
  • Hybrid & flexible working — We prioritise the value, creativity and energy of collaborating in-person in our Sydney Office. (Tue & Thu are our office days!) You also get the option to work from anywhere in the world for a period of time.
  • $1,500 L&D budget — Every Slypster gets a $1,500 budget per anniversary for you to use towards honing your craft.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
