Services Australia is seeking to identify suitable Candidates to perform the role of Business

Analysts, Systems Analysts and Solution Design Managers up to manager levels to support

the agency to document business requirements, capture business needs, and design, create,

evaluate, and document ICT solutions in new and existing ICT systems.

Business Analysts analyse and integrate information provided by customers, staff,

Information Technology (IT) professionals, executives, and other internal and external

stakeholders. They are responsible for understanding the core needs and requirements of

stakeholders and the agency. Business Analysts often play a central role in aligning the

needs of business units with the capabilities delivered by IT or business activities and may

serve as a translator between stakeholder groups. Business Analysts exercise a degree of

independent judgement and make decisions within defined parameters that rely on skills and

knowledge.

The level of Security Clearance required for a Role will be confirmed at the time of Contract.

Main Duties Duties may include, but not limited to, some or all of the following:

contribute to the creation of action plans, solution reports and business cases for review by senior staff

liaise with stakeholders to develop an understanding of their requirements and concerns in line with the agency's business objectives

contribute towards business analysis approaches that may include specifying team roles, deliverables, analysis techniques or stakeholder communication

assist on recommending improvements for consideration by senior staff and provide support on the analysis, verification, and validation of the recommended improvements

provide support on stakeholder analysis to assist the team engage with stakeholders and effectively understand cross business functions

participate and assist facilitation across business units with stakeholders and represent the work area at meetings, conferences, and seminars

draft business analyst artefacts and documents that may include risk analysis, scope modelling, problem tracking and sequence diagrams for review by senior staff

draft or contribute to change management plans and/or communication plans

participate and provide support in brainstorming, workshops, prototyping, observation, or interviews, and confirm or report on results

draft and contribute to clear business and stakeholder requirement documentation including prioritising, organising, and verifying the requirements

examine and organise requirements to record dependencies, relationships and identify logical sequences

review project documentation and agency processes to assist with determining areas for improvement or change

identify potential issues or risks, track problems and escalate as appropriate

assist with requirements management plan and its implementation

contribute to performance reporting activities and/or variance analysis

assist with preparing textual statements, matrices, diagrams, and formal models to contribute to the analysis of requirements
