The posting

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Lead and contribute to the preparation and planning of user research, testing and / or discovery work activities in collaboration with the project team and stakeholders.
  • Use the results of research, testing and data insights to analyse and interpret the effectiveness of existing and proposed user interfaces designs, to provide clear, evidence-based advice to product and delivery teams.
  • Collaborate with a range of stakeholders including business users, Product Owners, subject matter experts (SMEs) and technical teams to create and enhance user centred outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience in the development of user centred design artefacts including service blueprints, user journeys, wireframes, and prototypes as required.
  • Communicate findings and translate user insights into practical recommendations that improve user experience and program outcomes.
  • Contribute to the establishment and promotion of design guidelines, best practices, and standards, to uplift the maturity of UX design across the department.

User Experience Designers found suitable will be required to hold and maintain a TSPV or TSPA clearance throughout the course of this work.

1. UX Design Expertise

o Proven experience in designing intuitive, user-centred digital experiences across web and mobile platforms.

2. Research and Analysis

o Ability to conduct user research, usability testing, and translate insights into actionable design solutions.

o Demonstrated experience in developing UX design artefacts including personas, journey maps and service blueprints.

3. Prototyping and Wireframing

o Proficiency in tools such as Axure RP, Sketch, or Adobe XD for creating wireframes, prototypes, and design systems.

4. Collaboration Skills & Communication Skills

o Strong ability to work with cross-functional teams including developers, product managers, and stakeholders.

o Excellent ability to present design concepts and rationale clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

5. Visual and Interaction Design

o Demonstrated capability in creating visually appealing interfaces aligned with brand guidelines and accessibility standards.

6. Problem-Solving and Innovation

o Ability to identify user pain points and propose creative, practical solutions that enhance user experience.
